Established by the English in 1625, it was the island’s first operational estate for tobacco, sugar, and rum. Originally owned by Sam Jefferson, the great-great-great-grandfather of US President Thomas Jefferson, guests can explore the ruins and may have the opportunity to visit the rum distillery to learn about the historical process of converting sugar into rum.
