- Wingfield Estate Sugar Plantation Ruins - The tour commences at the historic Wingfield Estate, nestled in the foothills of St. Kitts’ central mountain range. Established by the English in 1625, it was the island’s first operational estate for tobacco, sugar, and rum. Originally owned by Sam Jefferson, the great-great-great-grandfather of US President Thomas Jefferson, visitors can explore the ruins and may have the opportunity to visit the rum distillery to learn about the historical process of converting sugar into rum.

Participants will have the opportunity to investigate the historical remains of Lambert’s Estate, a sugar plantation site. This site is a significant attraction adjacent to the Wingfield Estate and serves as a pivotal pause point along the journey.
