This historical and ecological kayak journey necessitates some prior kayaking experience and is not recommended for absolute novices. Enjoy a picturesque paddle down the Bayfront of the United States’ most ancient city! Astonishing tales of the city come alive as you pass by key landmarks such as the Castillo de San Marcos/Old Fort, the Fountain of Youth, the Nombre de Dios Mission, and the Great Cross, which marks the site where the Spanish landed.
Immerse yourself in the city’s natural beauty as you navigate up Hospital Creek through the salt marsh. Be on the lookout for indigenous wildlife such as Dolphins, Manatees, Sea Turtles, Stingrays, and various Marsh Birds, including the Great Blue Heron and the Roseate Spoonbills.
Please note that the Downtown Bayfront History Tour isn’t suitable for beginners due to the waterways’ susceptibility to wind speeds and boat traffic. Hence, participants need to be over the age of 16 and only single kayaks are provided for this tour.
