The journey begins along the banks of the city’s Jhelum River, leading to the first stop at Khanqah of Shah-I-Hamadan, a mosque from the fourteenth century.
The tour continues to Pathar Masjid, a mosque constructed in 1623 by Noor Jahan, renowned for its nine horizontally-oriented arches. Following this, the tour proceeds to the Maharaj Gunj Spice Bazaar, where visitors can find wood carvings, carpets, pashmina shawls, engraved metal items, and more.
From the bazaar, the tour moves to the octagonal dome of the tomb of Zain-ul-Abidin’s mother and then to the Jamia Masjid mosque. This site is famous for its Indo-Saracenic architecture, featuring a stunning courtyard and 370 wooden pillars carved from a single tree trunk.
A lunch break is scheduled at a local restaurant (lunch included).
- Naqshband Shrine - After lunch, the tour continues to the seventeenth-century Naqshband Sahab shrine, constructed from layers of brick and wood, followed by a visit to the Madin Sahab shrine, a religious site designed in the Kashmiri style of the fifteenth century.
- Hari Parbat - The walk concludes at the Hari Parbat Fort, which offers breathtaking views of the city.
