Yala National Park - Yala National Park is a huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. It’s home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. Inland, Sithulpawwa is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Nearby caves contain centuries-old rock paintings. Southwest, Magul Maha Viharaya also has ancient Buddhist ruins. Both are pilgrimage sites.

Your pick-up from your accommodation in Colombo is scheduled for 0600 hrs and we will then head towards Yala. In the evening, we have planned a Game drive at Yala Park for 1500 hrs. After this adventure, enjoy your overnight stay at your hotel in Yala.

Throughout your visit, you’ll experience two game drives.

Yala is renowned for being home to large herds and vast amounts of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and various other animals. It’s also a haven for birdwatchers with over 130 bird species recorded, including both local and migratory birds.
