Great experience! - It was one of our strongest experiences in Sri Lanka, we were picked up from the hotel and were traveling alone with a vehicle. The guide also pointed us to smaller animals and explained a lot about it to us. The highlight was of course the 80 to 100 elephants. After the safari he drove us to our next hotel in Nilaveli- Beach.

Perfect safari - They recomended us to go to Kaudulla National Park instead of Minneriya and do the safari at 11H instead of 13H and it was a total succes. We enjoyed te elephants with no other vehicles around, and the two guides were super aware of other animals hidden in the trees. We recomend this safari because they have a lot of knowledge of the zone and they give you a complete experience.

Super safari - This tour operator is phenomenal. Because he knew the original park was fully booked we went to Kaudulla. He had arranged for a ranger who had an eye for detail and time. We've seen whole herds of elephants, lots of different small mammals and birds of all shapes and sizes. It was a great safari. You can't get any better.

Fantastic Elephant Tour Near Sigiriya - This was an excellent tour for spotting elephants — we saw 106, to be exact! The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and knew exactly where to find the elephants. He was also flexible in choosing the best national park near Sigiriya based on current conditions and elephant activity. Communication was smooth and easy via WhatsApp. He picked us up directly from our accommodation and suggested an ideal start time, which meant we encountered very few other tourists. Overall, a well-organized and memorable experience.

ゾウの群れに感動、でもサファリ車は不安だらけ　Impressed by the Elephant Herd, but the Safari Vehicle Raised Serious Concerns - Minneriya Jeep Safari and Tours のツアーに参加しました。料金が他のツアーに比べて割安だったこともありある程度の覚悟はしていましたが、実際に配車されたジープは、床の鉄板に所々サビがあり、端の方は穴が開いて抜けている箇所も見受けられました。座席もかなり年季が入っており、シートベルトはちぎれていて、もはや存在していませんでした。全体的に車体の状態はかなり悪く、この車両で草原や凹凸の多い道を走行させること自体、安全性への最低限の配慮がなされていないと感じました。おそらく20年以上前に製造された4WDのように思えました。すれ違う他のジープは明らかに新しく、乗客が立ち上がったまま走行している車も多く見られました。それに対して私が乗った車は、もし立ち上がろうものなら、揺れがあまりに激しく、車外に放り出されるのではないかと思うほどで、とても立っていられる状態ではありませんでした。まあオープンルーフの車両ではありませんでしたが。 また料金説明にも不信感を抱きました。ツアー代金のほかに別途、国立公園の入場料や税金がかかること自体は、申し込み時の案内にも一応記載がありましたが、具体的な金額は明記されていませんでした。申し込み後に事務スタッフからWhatsAppで「入場料と税金を含めて15,000ルピー」と連絡がありましたが、これは私が自分で支払うと申し出をした結果、実際に支払ってみて12,900ルピーだったと判明したものです。この金額は、ジープ1台にドライバー1名と私1名（乗客1名）で利用した場合の、入場料および各種税金の合計額です。ジープ1台に対しての金額が人数に応じて変動する仕組みのようですが、2人以上で参加した場合の具体的な料金体系については把握していません。 ゾウの群れには会うことができ、小さな子ゾウの姿も見ることができました。ミネリヤ国立公園の持つ自然環境の魅力は、もちろん感じることができました。ドライバーの運転技術自体には問題はなかったものの、車両の整備状態や料金説明の不透明さを含めて、これは会社としての管理や姿勢に問題があるのではないかと感じました。サファリを提供するツアー会社は複数ありますので、内容や信頼性、安全面を含めて比較検討することをおすすめします。 I joined a tour organized by Minneriya Jeep Safari and Tours. Since the price was relatively lower than other tours, I had tempered expectations going in. However, the condition of the assigned jeep was worse than expected — the floorboards were rusted in several places, with visible holes along the edges. The seats were extremely worn, and the seat belts were torn and essentially nonexistent. Overall, the condition of the vehicle was very poor, and using it to traverse grassy plains and uneven terrain showed a complete lack of basic safety considerations. The vehicle seemed to be a 4WD manufactured more than 20 years ago. In contrast, many of the other jeeps we passed on the way were clearly newer, with passengers able to stand comfortably during the ride. With the jeep I was in, standing up was completely out of the question due to the excessive shaking — I genuinely felt like I might be thrown from the vehicle if I tried. Granted, the vehicle was not an open-roof type, but still. I also felt uneasy about the fee explanation. While it was mentioned during booking that entrance fees and taxes for the national park would be charged in addition to the tour price, no specific amounts were given. After the booking, a message from the staff via WhatsApp informed me that the entrance and tax fees would total 15,000 LKR. However, this was only clarified because I offered to pay the fees directly myself, and I found out that the actual amount was only 12,900 LKR. This amount covered the park entry and various taxes for one jeep with one driver and myself as the sole passenger. It appears that the total amount varies depending on the number of passengers per jeep, but since I was traveling alone, I do not know the exact pricing structure for groups of two or more. I was able to encounter a herd of elephants, including a baby elephant, which was certainly a highlight. I did feel the natural appeal of Minneriya National Park. While the driver’s handling of the vehicle was not problematic, the overall poor maintenance of the vehicle and the lack of transparency around the fees made me question the management and standards of the company. Since there are many companies offering safari tours, I recommend carefully comparing your options, especially with attention to safety and reliability.
