Setting Sail on the Adriatic

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I boarded the motor yacht Tamaris for the Split Island Tour. The gentle hum of the engine and the salty breeze instantly transported me to a state of bliss. As a former professional surfer, the ocean has always been my sanctuary, and this tour promised a day of exploration and relaxation on the stunning Croatian coast.

Borkko Beach was a slice of paradise, with its golden sands and crystal-clear waters. I couldn’t resist the call of the sea and quickly grabbed a snorkel to explore the vibrant marine life beneath the surface. The beach bar offered a refreshing escape, with sunbeds and a selection of drinks to enjoy. It was the perfect start to our island-hopping adventure.

After a leisurely swim, we set sail for the highlight of the day—the Blue Lagoon. The turquoise waters were even more breathtaking than I had imagined. As we anchored, a traditional Mediterranean lunch was served, accompanied by unlimited white wine. The chicken was a standout, perfectly cooked and satisfying after a morning of swimming and snorkeling.

With a full belly and a content heart, I spent the afternoon diving off the main deck and lounging on the sundeck, savoring the endless views of the Adriatic. The Blue Lagoon was a dream come true, a place where time seemed to stand still.

Our final stop was the charming village of Maslinica on the island of Šolta. This quaint fishing hamlet offered a glimpse into the laid-back Dalmatian way of life. I wandered through the village, admiring the architecture and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. A visit to Marchi Castle added a touch of history to our day, and I couldn’t resist a cup of freshly brewed coffee at a local café.

As we cruised back to Split, the crew served chilled watermelon, a refreshing end to a perfect day. The tour had been a delightful blend of adventure and relaxation, a chance to connect with the ocean and experience the beauty of Croatia’s islands.
