Early Morning Adventure

The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon as my wife and I made our way to the meeting point in Split. The air was crisp, and the city was still waking up, but the promise of a day filled with natural beauty was enough to shake off any lingering sleepiness. We were greeted by Darijo and Ivica, our guide and driver for the day, who immediately set the tone with their friendly banter and easygoing demeanor.

As we boarded the air-conditioned coach, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement. The journey to Krka National Park was smooth, and the anticipation built with every mile. After our walk, we had the option to take a boat ride to Skradin, but the adventurer in me opted for the 4 km walk instead. The path was less crowded, offering a more intimate experience with the landscape. The views were breathtaking, with the river winding its way through the canyon, a ribbon of blue against the green.

As we approached Skradin, the promise of a refreshing swim beckoned. The beach was a welcome sight, and we wasted no time in diving into the cool waters of the Krka River. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration, the sun warming our skin as we floated lazily in the water.

The journey back to Split was eventful, with a blown tire adding a touch of adventure to the day. Ivica handled the situation with impressive skill, ensuring we were safe and comfortable while we waited for a replacement bus. Darijo, ever the entertainer, kept spirits high with his humor and stories.
