Java island is home to many stunning landscapes, captivating UNESCO heritage sites, breathtaking volcanoes, and various spots for surfing and snorkeling among other attractions. We start our adventure from Yogyakarta, situated at the heart of Java Island. Yogyakarta offers an opportunity to experience authentic Javanese Culture, emanating from the locals and the various sites you’ll explore. Such include the Prambanan Temple, Sultan Palace, Malioboro Street, Kali Adem at Mount Merapi, as well as neighboring Borobudur temple located in Magelang Town, a 2-hour drive from Yogyakarta.
Upon visiting Yogyakarta, we will relish an executive train ride from Yogyakarta to Surabaya, which takes around 5 hours. From your train window, you can witness lush rice fields, quaint villages, and small towns that follow Yogyakarta. Surabaya, the capital of East Java, is home to two main attractions you will visit during the tour: Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater.
- Important Information for all travellers who are going to book this trip: Every first Friday of the month, Mount Ijen is closed for one day. So, please make sure you check the date of your booking.
- Update from Ijen Crater for this week: Ijen Crater opens at 2 am as usual, but the blue fire is not really visible at the moment due to natural causes (but when you are lucky, you will see it). The benefit is you can go down into the crater + you can still see the whole view of the Mining area and some miners too and of course the whole landscape during the sunrise.
- Important News from Borobudur Temple There will be no sunrise tour anymore on the top of the temple and no one is allowed to visit the top of the temple as well. From now on, we can only see the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE at the bottom of the temple and for sunrise, we will go to Setumbu Hill. Good news: There is a trial to climb up to the top floor but with special shoes and additional cost for it. it’s still not so sure when this trial stops or continues.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
