The tour covers all of the iconic points of interest from Nelson Mandela’s old house to the Hector Pieterson Memorial. Peter will take you on a 1km walk down the infamous Vilikazi Street where you will not only stop at the various sites of interest but will also get to interact with the local inhabitants.

Fascinating tour with friendly team - Went on a tour of soweto with soul adventures. These guys definitely do things way different to other companies. The guide took us to the non commercial parts. This was great as we got to get a true feel for the soul of soweto. We learnt a lot about the history of south Africa and apartheid. Definitely worth the time

Moving Experience - We really appreciated the experience of being able to do this tour. It was very moving, and hard to describe adequately. Our tour guides were great, and we felt safe through the tour.

So disappointing! - We were put together with another tour that was to include part of the city of Johannesburg and the Apartheid Museum. We had chosen to spend the morning in Soweto, the real Soweto, which was to involve time talking to people who live there, and time to walk Vilikasi Street. After being picked up 1/2 hour late, we didn't get out of Johannesburg until after noon, we never walked on Vilikasi St. and we were given less than 20 minutes to race through th informal settlement and meet the people there - no better than an uncomfortable photo op! When I complained to Viator their answer was to offer my a $25. voucher, rather than having our back when one of their local contractors fails so badly. I will not be using them again.
