We stop at Orlando towers the distinctive landmark in the neighborhoods of Soweto. The towers were cooling towers for the coal run power station supplying electricity to Johannesburg after the second world war over 50 years.The station was closed in 1998, and transformed into entertainment and business center in 2008.
The towers are completely covered with brightly coloured murals,one tower depicts scenes and images from Soweto culture and the other one has corporate branding of South Africa’s vodacom mobile network.
