Highlights
  • Lambs Knoll Climbing Site BLM - Stargazing Zion is pleased to host you, family, and friends for an entertaining evening of stargazing and astronomy on a field adjacent to the newly dedicated International Dark Sky Park, Zion National Park.

Starting with a brief 10-minute walk to our dark sky location, our guides will then familiarize you with the night sky as astronomical twilight begins to set. Each guest lounges in their own zero gravity pod. These pods conform to your body, eliminating pressure points to make it comfortable and easy to view the star-filled sky. Each guest also has a pair of Celestron Outland X Binoculars to view the sky from their pod.

Our astronomy guides will present a 2-hour program that includes state-of-the-art telescopes and laser pointers to guide you around the constellations and objects of the night sky. We also provide guests an up-close view of celestial objects (galaxies, nebulae, clusters) through our powerful telescopes.

Hot beverages are provided as well, such as hot chocolate, coffee and tea.

Always more to discover! - Loved this experience. We had the Milky Way on our bucket list and we finally were able to see it. The travel through the solar system on the way to the telescopes was so interesting even for someone who has known about the planets for a long time. Zoey was a masterclass in explaining things in a way that was understandable. We got to see Saturn and Jupiter up close. Bonus coyotes howling in the distance was awesome. Highly recommend this tour.

Excellent stargazing adventure! - If you have not done this stargazing experience you should do it. We had an excellent time and learned so much. It’s also very interactive and the equipment is top notch. Bundle up as the night was cold. They supply blankets as well. There were seven in our family that went and we all said we would do it again. Enjoy your stargazing adventure!

As large and wonderful as Zion canyon itself is, it pales in comparison to the splendor of the Milky Way - The location is about a 30-minute drive from Springdale up a long beautiful canyon road as the sun was setting, aiming for a 7:45 arrival time in early October. It was DARK once the various groups gathered in the parking lot (about 12 or so folks) and we followed our astronomer leader Devon over to the viewing point (a dark walk over uneven ground, but they gave us a little souvenir light). Devon was enthusiastically teaching us the whole time about the planets in our solar system—their characteristics and how they were formed. She answers any questions you have. Once we laid down on the comfy bean bag recliners to gaze at the bright Milky Way, we realized that we were so lucky to have a cloudless night with no moon and not super cold—perfect for viewing the heavens. All the other comments have covered the pluses of this experience—it’s unique to lie out under the stars while an expert points to various constellations with a green laser light! Then we got the chance to peer into super-telescopes to see various sparkly and strange faraway stars and galaxies. My husband was quietly blown away by the whole experience, so it turned out to be the memorable birthday present to him I'd hoped for. The next day we toured Zion canyon itself, but as large and wonderful as it is, it pales in comparison to the splendor of the Milky Way. (-:

Won't Disappoint, Beautiful Night - My husband and I both enjoyed the Stargazing Zion. It was such a beautiful night, we lucked out almost being a full moon that night. The guilds were thoughtful, incredibly knowledgeable and were so nice to the group. Taking questions and telling us so much about the Universe. Would highly recommend this tour if you have the chance to go.

Beautiful stars at Zion - Really enjoyed the star gazing experience at Zion. They did a great job explaining everything and catering to everyone’s needs! Would advise you to bring a sweatshirt and/or jacket. Also, make sure to wear shoes and socks! There’s a little bit of a walk and it is Sandy/rocky.

Cloudy nights - My partner and I were super excited to star gaze here. The reviews looked amazing and we both love dark reserves. Unfortunately the skies did not cooperate with us and it was super cloudy. The astronomer did give us a great talk about the planets and our solar system. The cushions were cozy to lounge on the gear looked impressive, tho we didn't try it out. We were issued a 75% refund which felt very reasonable. Overall disappointed by the clouds but we had a smooth and easy experience with this company. Will try again if we return to the Zion area.
