Highlights
  • Peekaboo Gulch - The slot canyon is most famous because of the last 100 meters, before the junction with Dry Fork of Coyote Gulch - here the ravine cuts deeper into the sandstone, with a series of interlinked potholes, extravagant swirls and fins of rock, and several arches; these different openings and the many corners and crevices account for the curious name of this canyon.
  • Spooky Gulch - Only 10 inches wide at some points, Spooky is appropriately named. It is possible to travel almost halfway through before the first of two climbs, so go ahead and squeeze through as far as you dare.
What's Included
  • Complimentary bottled water
Additional Information

Topping the list of must-see sights in Southern Utah is the pairing of Peek-a-Boo and Spooky Slot Canyons. Renowned hikes situated in the Dry Fork region of the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument, they form an exciting circuit you can complete in an afternoon thrill. Whisk yourself into a picturesque landscape of ruby and lavender rock formations, arches, and slim slot canyons after entering.

Starting from the trailhead, our journey takes us scrambling moderately down some compact cliffs to the Dry Fork Wash. Off the cliff and into the sandy landscape, follow the creek wash till the entrance of Peek-a-Boo becomes visible. Post Peek-a-Boo, an adjacent hike will lead to the opening of Spooky Gulch. Carefully descend a gentle rock face to enter the canyon. It soon narrows down offering a delightful challenge as you navigate through this captivating narrow canyon.

Highlight of our vacation! - My 69 year old husband and I (62) had a tour with Regan. It was FANTASTIC! We were the only two on the tour. Regan was knowledgeable about the various rock formation and plants. More so, he was an incredibly personable guide. He demonstrated how to get over some challenging rock formations in the slot canyons and then came back to help me maneuver them. We would have never done the canyons without a guide! I would highly recommend this tour to even beginner hikers!

Worth a trip - We spent 3 nights at Ruby’s Inn, breakfast included. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. We had no experience with Bryce Canyon National Park, so we booked the Scenic Bryce Canyon Tour. The tour was so great, we were able to get advice on what else to do during our stay. Our second full day, we hiked to Mossy Cave and the waterfall and windows on the same hike. It was beautiful. Last recommendation is to head down to Tropic, UT and enjoy some delicious barbecue at IDK barbecue. This stay made me wish I had brought my son here as a kid for some of the great summer activities.

Exceptional Day. - We had an exceptional day with Neal. An Escalante native who had a great knowledge of this beautiful area and its history. He was patient and very professional and made our experience very memorable. We could not recommend ROAM and especially Neal highly enough.

Spooky peekaboo fork narrow hiking - Our guide is Neil and he is so great. The road is tricky and people are easy to get lost. The slot canyons are long and narrow, and sometimes we need to climb up or slip down the rock. Our guide helped us through all the amazing slots. The experience is unbelievable and we cannot make it without the help of the guide

Best slot canyon tour - I had such a great adventure today!! Neil was the best guide ever! We went to Dry Fork, Spooky and peek-a-boo slot canyons. I can’t describe in words how wonderful those canyons are! I strongly recommend this tour if you are looking for something fun and amazing! And it can’t go wrong if Neil is your guide! He took great pictures along the canyons, but he needs to improve his video skills.. hahaha (just kidding) thanks Roam and Neil for a wonderful day! And I got a bonus - Neil took me to Garden of Rocks, which is a very nice place to visit!
