Highlights
  • The Mitten Buttes And Merrick Butte - First, we’ll assign you a horse based on your experience, weight, and height. Then we’ll start galloping towards the West Mitten Butte, followed by the East Mitten Butte. They are also known together as, The Mittens. When viewed from the south, the buttes appear to be two gigantic mittens with their thumbs facing inwards. If you capture the Merrick Butte at an angle you see that it’s between the West & East Mitten Buttes. All three buttes are commonly seen together in many popular films and images. Its elevation is over 6,200 ft making it one of the tallest buttes in Monument Valley.
  • Sentinel Mesa - Located northwest of The Mittens, it’s a mountain with an elevation of over 6,400 ft. Most of the mesa is in the state of Utah, but a small southern section of it is in the state of Arizona. This breathtaking mesa can be seen from the Monument Valley Visitor Center.

One of those lifetime memories - A real bucket list moment. Relaxed and fun horse ride in MV. The horses literally follow each other, all you need to do is lean back and forward at the right moments. A little bit of steering and stop them eating. Nelson the guide was so nice and full of MV facts. Were we’re on the 5pm tour and on arrival at the park there was a big queue. So don’t worry, just drive past the cars to the front and tell the booth operator that you are on a tour and they will charge you and let you through. Thanks Kansas (my horse) for a great ride.

Amazing Time With Zeke! - Our horseback riding tour through Monument Valley with Zeke was an unforgettable adventure. Zeke's passion and knowledge about the area added depth to our experience as we rode through iconic landscapes and towering sandstone buttes. The tour was well-paced, allowing us to soak in the vast, serene deserts and connect with the landscape on a personal level. The horses were gentle and suitable for all skill levels, enhancing our connection to the environment. A highlight was stopping at scenic overlooks where Zeke shared traditional Navajo stories, making the tour not just a sightseeing trip but a journey into the heart of Monument Valley. This experience stands out as a cherished memory, highly recommended to anyone seeking to explore the beauty of this majestic place in a unique and meaningful way.

Great way to experience Monument Valley - I had a great tour with Logan on Saturday March 16th. We decided on an evening tour from 5-7pm so that we might enjoy the Golden hour. It was really beautiful out at that time and not too cold yet. Logan was great. Very laid back and had useful information about the formations around us and the land we were traveling on. He has been riding since he was 6 years old and I was very impressed that he rode essentially bare back (only on a small blanket)! My horse bandit, was sweet but clearly tired from a long day of giving tours. I did not mind because I was tired too and hadn't been horseback riding since I was a child. He was a great horse for a beginner. My friend and I ended up on this "group" tour by ourselves, which was a nice surprise. I think because it is still winter and essentially their low season, there weren't many other riders. This 2-hour horseback riding tour was the highlight of our trip to Monument Valley.

A must for horselovers - A once in a lifetime experience.. A must for horselovers! Horses are well looked after and very easy to handle. Thanks to our guide Logan, who made our ride even more special. Wish we could have stayed longer in the valley to go on a longer trail. We did the 2 hour trail, which was worth every minute..

Arrived on time at the... - Arrived on time at the meeting point, waited an hour but nobody showed up. Eventually arrived at the stables. Nobody gave us an explanation as to why nobody Came to pick us up. Very rude and blunt overall. Tour was beautiful regarding settings and horses. The guide was not in the mood, didn't give us any explanation, didn't reassure us on the horses, ... Weird vibe.
