Highlights
  • The Mitten Buttes And Merrick Butte - As we set up the horses to assign based on experience, weight, and height. We’ll give you and our horse buddies a proper introduction. After you two get acquainted, we’ll start galloping towards the West Mitten Butte, where you get to be up close. Take pictures of the East Mitten and Merrick buttes at a distance. When viewed from the south, the buttes appear to be two gigantic mittens with their thumbs facing inwards. If you capture the Merrick Butte at an angle you see that it’s between the West & East Mitten Buttes. All three buttes are commonly seen together in many popular films and images. Its elevation is over 6,200 ft making it one of the tallest buttes in Monument Valley.
  • Sentinel Mesa - Located northwest of The Mittens is the Sentinel Mesa, a mountain with an elevation of over 6,400 ft. Most of the mesa is in the state of Utah, but a small southern section of it is in the state of Arizona. This breathtaking mesa can be seen from so many points.

A must do in Monument Valley! - This was the highlight of our trip to Arizona! We went for the 9am tour. There was just me, my husband and the guide with our horses. We were alone in the part of the valley we went to! It was so beautiful and calm! The guide was really fun and nice, he took a lot of pictures and videos of us with my phone. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Monument Valley.

Perfect time. Wish we had more - Dion our guide was perfect person to go along with. The spiritual side of his peoples history and its modern needs and also making my family feel safe on the ride. Would’ve loved to spend another two hours with him if we could.

Don't think about it twice, it's SO worth it! - We did not expect to have THAT much fun - it was amazing. My husband has never really been on a horse before and he LOVED it. We took the 1hr tour and our guide Logan was great; he told us so much about the area and took many photos for us - amazing. 100% recommend!

A Magical Experience - What a magical experience in Monument Valley, with Sacred Monument Tours. It has been nearly a decade since I rode, and a gentle hour in the saddle with Tin Horn, a kind and experienced horse, was such a pleasure.

Amazing horseback tour! - What an AMAZING tour! Our guide (Dion) shared personal stories that made the experience meaningful while also doing an amazing job of helping us feel comfortable handling horses as he led us through an area where the famous movie Stagecoach was filmed. We also felt very connected with the horses (Mack and Kansas) who were both well trained and very friendly. Can’t wait to do it again!

Highly recommended! - We had an awesome time on this tour! Logan was a great guide, took time to take photos, answer questions and give information about the area and the horses. Both beginner riders but our horses Willie and Gossip were amazing! Cant recommend this tour highly enough 5*

Well worth doing - Brilliant hour out! We were complete beginners and quite nervous but horses were calm and seemed to know the route. Guide lovely, took some photos of us all together and told us all about history of the area. The only thing they need to get clearer is how to find the place.

Bad - Didn’t get to go because of trip advisor. Their mess up with antelope canyon cost us a day and over $400
