Navajo back country - We did the back country tour with a local Navajo tribal person named Brian. He was amazing explaining the history of his people. His demonstration of how the bluffs wee made was amazing. His native singing was enough to make you cry. And the rug demonstration was amazing.

Amazing experience - It was a mind-bending experience given the sheer scale and drama of the buttes and features. Larry was a patient and knowledgeable guide. I especially enjoyed his Navajo chant in the Eye of the Sun recess.

Great backcountry views - Well worth the time especially once you get off the common tourist road. Sandra was an excellent guide with just the right amount of information yet willing to answer questions. She also gave useful photograph tips for those with iPhones. We never feel rushed which is good for those who like to take pictures.

Things you can only see with a guide - Thanks to Duffy who accompanied us for almost two hours in his 4x4 on a private tour of the Mystery Valley. Many explanations on geological formations and lots of sharing on Navajo culture

Tour Leader Larry was a great Teacher - We took a private tour in an enclosed vehicle because it can be dusty. Larry covered history, nature, culture, Navajo beliefs. Very thorough and thoughtful. He was very considerate with avoiding bumps and stopping in the shade. He helped set up photos for us and took amazing pix of me and husband with my cell phone. You cannot go to the backcountry without a tour and honestly the views are great but the guides are the real highlight. Thank you, Larry for teaching us a small part of the Dine story.

Best tour and guide ever - There was a little mix up about time and day, but the manager came to the meeting place and explained. He call Marjory to take us out and we got a private tour, excellent customer service!!! We had an awesome tour with Marjory, she shared all kinds of information about each of the Monuments and helped us get all the special pictures, just where to stand or lay down in one case. We fully enjoyed this tour and would recommend it. Monument Valley is everything and more than I was expecting, Thank you again Monument Valley Safari tours your service and Marjory was excellent.

Petroglyphs & beautiful views - The views of Monument Valley were beautiful, but the best part was seeing the things reserved for tour groups. My family's favorite part was going inside the domes, seeing the petroglyphs, and hearing information from our Navajo guides. We got to go inside a hogan and see how they make wool rugs. It was also nice to talk with some of the artisans selling their products. FYI - Many of them take credit cards, but some only take cash. You can get a really cool photo on a rocky outcropping at one of the stops near the beginning of the trip. We didn't take the time to properly pose for our photo.
