Great for photographers! - It was a fantastic experience. Our guide was terrific. As a photographer, I was looking for unique perspectives of Monument Valley and he showed us an incredible vantage point for both sunset and the next morning's sunrise. There were three of us in the group. The sleeping accommodations were basic with a large tent and really worm sleeping bags, totally adequate for the one night we were there. We ate like kings with a full steak dinner (cooked to perfection over the fire pit) and eggs and sausage for breakfast. Excellent camp coffee as well. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are a photographer.

What a landscape! - We are French Tourists and have spent one night at Hunts Mesa under tent camping with Toney. We did not imagine the amazing landscape above Monument Valley at sunset and sunrise. After the sunset, what a night under a fantastic sky with Milky-Way, a bbq around a fire, songs and tales of Navajo Nation then under camping tent. The same emotion the next early morning with sunrise. It has been a fantastic moment in our life. The course in 4X4 to Hunts Mesa is very spectacular, up and down rocks and sand. Impossible to guess where the good way could be. Tony is a skilful driver who knows every hill and dale. One suggestion to complete this moment: Toney, please think about indicating the place of restrooms when arriving at the campground before the night! Annie and Rene

Highlight of our trip!!!! - Where to begin? Well, the off-roading is very bouncy and a bit scary in parts. It caught us a bit off guard, it is very exhilarating. Don’t do this if you have back problems. But our driver and guides were just brilliant. You feel totally safe with them. The sunset view was wonderful. We were dropped off there for a few hours while our meals were being cooked on a fire back at camp. Sitting by the fire and chatting with our guides was wonderful. They’re so friendly and relaxed and I learned a lot about the culture. The sleeping bags are SO comfortable! I was worried I wouldn’t get a good night’s sleep but i had one of the best in that little tent! My only minor complaint was there weren’t any pillows provided, but I just used my jacket rolled up. In the night at about 1am the clouds finally cleared and I even managed to get some astrophotography done. This trip is a photographer’s dream. Sunrise was spectacular. Like jaw dropping. I can’t get over it. We had ample hours to take it all in. Everything is just so silent. So peaceful. Until the sun gets to a certain height and the birds start to sing. It’s incredible. Then there was another hair-raising drive down, which takes I think two hours each way? The way down was even more fun, sliding down sand dunes and skidding in sand. If you get the chance to do this trip absolute do it. You’ll be seeing everything away from commercialism and just how it was intended.

A-1 views, rides, food and guide - The views of the famous part of Monument Valley are spectacular, and Toney the Navajo guide directed us to good viewing spots and gave us plenty of time for photos and simply contemplation, both at sunset and sunrise. The dinner he cooked over an open fire was excellent: thick steak, baked potato, corn on the cob and mushrooms, with Navajo tea. We slept in a tent in sleeping bags; it was surprisingly comfortable. The drives from the highway up to the mesa and back down were a superb bonus. You see a lot of unspoiled territory. Toney is a super driver, and the Chevy Suburban handled all the challenges, like path-less stretches up rock faces and down sand slopes. We could have been making a commercial for both the vehicle and driver! I was in awe. All in all, this overnight camping trip is fantastic and well worth the money. Get Toney if you can; you won't be disappointed.

Worth the trip! - Wow! Double Wow! Sunset, star gazing and sunrise on the mesa is truly spectacular. Our guide, Tony, showed us hospitality above and beyond. We encountered several transportation delays but when I called to inquire if we could rebook or if our guide could wait, Tony waited. The ride up to Hunts Mesa is better than any amusement park ride. Tony expertly navigated the dunes, rocks and steep climbs and descents. If you are looking for truly unique way to see Monument Valley, this is it!

Hunt Mesa overnight - This was a fabulous experience to get to the Hunts Mesa. Excellent driver and guide. I went solo with the Navajo guide and got dropped off alone along the mesa while he went to prepare the camp and the food. He picked me up as planned just at sunset. Great food, great lodging (thick sleeping bag for cold night).

Hunts Mesa Overnight Once In Lifetime Experience - The overnight camping trip to Hunts Mesa was a surprise for my wife and 10 yo daughter the day before Thanksgiving. The surprise for me was how amazing this trip ended up being for us. I can't say enough nice things about the guide we got for this trip, Toney. He was professional, made us feel safe during the off-road experience, told great Navajo stories, wealth of information about the local geology/wildlife/etc. Toney showed us some unbelievable viewing spots for sunset/sunrise, made stops at 1200 yo Anasazi ruins, set up camp, cooked big steak dinner and great breakfast. I can't say enough how happy I am that I booked this trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me and my family. Worth every penny.

Photo safari, real camping and unbelievable off road driving all in one - The Hunt's Mesa 18 hour overnight safari is markeded as a photo safari, but it is much more. First, our great guide/expert driver/cook/camp boss Tony took us on an unbelivable off road drive to get up on Hunt's Mesa. With the large, modified Chevrolet Suburban we went over rocks and up steep hills that I would have thought impossible to traverse. What an experience! Once on the Mesa, Tony dropped us off at a great photo spot overlooking Monument Valley for two hours to enjoy the sunset hours and take wonderful photos of the monuments in the changing light. After sunset Tony picked us up again and took us to the camp site where he had set up camp with tent and already prepared the camp fire. We all enjoyed Tony's great steak, corn on the cob and potatoes freshly cooked by the camp fire. After a good night in our sleeping bags in the tent we rose before sunup to a new photo session. The sunrise was even better than the sunset. This was a real camping experience with exhilarating off road driving in addition to the photo safari. I can warmly recommend the tour if you are not afraid of some rough driving and real camping.

Hunt's Mesa Overnight....AMAZING!! - Perfect experience. Most incredible view I've ever seen, amazing 4x4 driving skills and great stories by our guide Toney, best meal we had on our week vacation, and we were the only group out on the Mesa that night. Total relaxation and everything was taken care of for us.

The Hunts Mesa Overnight Campout Exceeded My Expectations - I planned that this would be an exciting trip and Monument Valley Safari and my guide Toney did not disappoint. The views were stunning. Toney made you feel at ease during the entire excursion given, for example, the drive up the Mesa could only be handled by someone like him having unique driving skills. He was very accommodating to give me time to take photos on the way up, on top and and on the way down the next morning. He also pointed out the best vantage points for taking photographs. Toney also did a wonderful job preparing dinner and breakfast at the campsite. You will not go hungry.
