A Journey Through Time and Terrain

As a retired teacher with a penchant for road trips, I often find myself yearning for the open road, the wind in my hair, and the promise of new adventures. This time, my husband and I decided to embark on a journey through Southern Utah, a region that has long been on my bucket list. Our trusty RV was ready, and we were eager to explore the Grand Staircase-Escalante and Scenic Byway 12, guided by the Grand Staircase Tour audio tour.

Another memorable stop was the Belly of the Dragon, a man-made tunnel that has been shaped by years of water erosion. The short hike to the tunnel was easy, and the sight of the sun filtering through the sandstone was nothing short of magical. It reminded me of the many road trips I took with my family as a child, discovering hidden wonders in the most unexpected places.

A Scenic Finale

Our journey culminated with a visit to the Mossy Caves Trail, a short drive from Bryce Canyon. The trail, though brief, offered stunning views of towering hoodoos and a picturesque waterfall. As we walked, I couldn’t help but reflect on the beauty of nature and the importance of preserving these landscapes for future generations.
