A great day in Brisbane - This is a very scenic cruise - first, it takes you down the Brisbane River, with plenty of the city’s history to hear and many beautiful (mostly residential) buildings to admire. Then, you end up in the Koala Sanctuary - and by far it is the most comfortable way of getting there as a tourist and having plenty of time. Superbly organised. Food and wine are available on board, and the whole experience has a weekend-ish, relaxed feeling to it. I had a wonderful time, highly recommended!

The Best Day Ever. - The meeting point for this cruise is on the boardwalk by Brisbane Library. The company we were lucky enough to travel with are" Mirimar Cruises." Our skipper on the day was Paul and he also had two excellent crew to help. While boarding we were given a schedule for the day which included many different shows and activities that could be enjoyed at Lone pine Sanctuary. The river cruise up river takes approx 75 mins and Paul was very generous with lots of information as we travelled. Refreshments were available to purchase on board. On arrival at the sanctuary there are a number of steps to climb. We arrived just in time for the Raptor show followed by the sheep herding display and talk using Kelpis and collie dogs. The highlight of this trip of course is seeing the Koalas. It is wonderful as you get really close to them but if you want to get even closer you can pay extra for a "Koala Encounter". $35 each. "Yes Of course I did" It was amazing, you get a set time with just you, a keeper ,some eucalyptus leaves and a koala. Mine was called "MAC" You do not get to hold the Koala ,as it is now believed that this can be distressing to them, but you do get to touch and rub it. We also got to see Platapus, Wombats (asleep), Dingos, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Crocodiles, Cookabarra and more. There is a lovely restaurant and shop also and many water stations dotted around the property. By 1.30pm sadly we had to leave and return to the boat. again refreshments were available on the return journey. Listening to all my fellow passengers, everyone had had a great time. Paul also allowed all the passengers to have a photo taken , while wearing a captains hat and posing at the wheel of the boat, he was great fun. I must give a mention to an Amazing lady working there . Clare she is originally from Dublin, Ireland. She was so kind and helpful. she helped make this day the highlight of my Brisbane Trip. If you only do one wildlife park in Queensland, then this is "The One" Thank you to Mirimar Cruises for a wonderful day on the river. Huge Thank you to Clare and to All the Amazing staff at Lone Pine Sanctuary for the unbelievable work you do and for making this "The Best Day Ever". Marylin and David (Cork)

Excellent trip - Excellent trip with helpful staff and interesting commentary. Opportunity to eat and plenty of seating both indoors and out. Of course the highlight was the koalas, far more than I expected in a shady environment

A Must Book Trip - We highly recommend this tour. The crew that handled the boat narrated the trip up river highlighting interesting facts about the area and what we were seeing. The Koala Sanctuary was beyond our expectations. So many native Australian animals to see and many in a naturalized habitat. If you want to pet a Koala and feel their incredibly soft fir or feed some Kangaroos in an open free range setting this is the place for you!
