Lovely Stellenbosch wineries - Our assigned tour guide was ill and Leon Mbalanga was a perfect substitute for our full day private tour. We visited 3 of the top wineries in the area and purchased wine and gifts from 2 of them. It was a full fun day with informative background information provided by Leon. He was a delightful guide. We visited only three because we had an extended lunch. Would recommend cheese or snacks while tasting so a fourth or fifth winery could be visited!

Phenomenal! - What a beautiful trip to wine country!! We loved every minute of our private tour. Excellent guide, fabulous wine, scenery amazing! A must do!!

Fantastic time with Mulugeta! - Mulugeta was a fantastic guide and the food was amazing! He took us to places we never would have been able to find on our own and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this tour with him!

Fantastic private tour - Mr. Leon was a terrific guide! Very noce guy who knows everybody in the wine Estates. Spier Wine Estate is a must go! Very beautiful farm with tasty wines!

Tastings not included - Not sure if I misread the advert, however the actual wine tasting is not included with the price. They took us to three diffrent vinyards and we paid for the tasting of our choice, and for lunch. Having said that, it was a great day out and the driver was very polite and helpful.

Rocky start - Unfortunately our driver didn’t turn up. We then struggled to get through on the contact numbers we found in the booking confirmation and TA page. The concierge at our hotel helped and we were finally told that the driver was unwell so a replacement driver had to be found- by this time we’d lost an hour of our tour. However, I would like to thank Wesley - friendly, professional and a good driver. The information on the TA page isn’t clear and Viator couldn’t help when we originally asked for additional information before we booked other than to repeat the information on the TA page. The price we paid included pickup at 10 and return to our hotel at c 5pm, the services of a driver who took us to Spiers, Delair Graaf and Boschendal. Price for the tastings, lunch & wine with lunch was in addition. I’m not sure you’d manage to do all 5 listed if you had a break for lunch . Despite the poor start to the day, we still enjoyed it.

Late pick up - My pick up time was 8;00am and the operator did not come until about 9;30am and blamed that Viator gave me a wrong pick up time. I had to wait in the hotel lobby for 1 hr and 30 mins.. And the private car was old and small. Only good thing was that the driver, contactor, was a kind person. Winery the operator picked was not the best one ..

Too expensive just for transport - We made a reservation for 4 people with Spanish guide, but one and a half hours before the pickup we received a message saying that the guide was sick, so we either had to accept an English speaking guide or cancel it (we read that this had happened to other people in previous reviews and I really believe there is no Spanish guide). We decided to accept, otherwise we would lose one whole day. Our driver, Omar, was very pleasant and kind; in fact, it was the only positive aspect in this experience. Furthermore, when I asked for information to Viator's agents, they said that wine tastings were included in the price, but when we arrived to the farms we discovered that this was not true and we had to pay for them (the messages got deleted, so I cannot prove this). So, definitely, I would not recommend this tour to anybody because you are paying a very high price just for transport. You have to pay the tastings for your own and the "guide" is really a driver. I would rather recommend any other tour or to organise the tastings on your own and find alternative transport, it will be way cheaper.

Long wait for nothing - After several delays and 2 hours of waiting, the tour was cancelled, very unprofessional and definitely not recommended

MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT, POORLY ORGANISED, DO NOT PICK THIS WINE TOUR - We had booked for myself and a group of friends for the private wine tour to 5 wineries. Upon meeting the driver, he claimed he was not associated with the original company and had been asked to do this by a friend. At that time, we learnt that NONE of the wineries had been booked, that the payment ONLY included the driver and we would have to pay for every wine tasting ourselves. To top it off, it was absolutely not feasible to visit 5 wineries as there is a good drive between them, and we only got to 3. In summary, false advertising, overpriced, not worth the money.
