So cool - make a chocolate bar from scratch with raw ingredients! - Seriously interesting- the property is very nice and the people were very kind. Our guide (Taj) was very versed in everything related to chocolate and coffee - from germination to production and beyond! We would definitely recommend! Didn’t mention you get to make your own chocolate bar (from scratch)?

Coocoo for Chocolate - AMAZING experience from start to end. Nathan, Murray, Tjajhane, and Monique were all so wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. You will leave with a new appreciation for chocolate.

Willy Wonka irl haha - My best friend and I really enjoyed this activity, and it was such a unique experience. We went on a day it was pouring rain, but it honestly made the vibe so much more relaxing since we were pretty much outside under a large tent. We learned about the history of chocolate in Saint Lucia, feeling like we were in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The hotel is a little far from Rodney Bay, but I highly recommend this activity when you come to SLU.

Bean to Bar is a MUST - Bean to Bar is just a MUST for any visitor. A wonderful guided tour and full explanation of bean to bar, how the cacao tree is grown or grafted as needs be. You get to graft your own cacao tree (but don't expect updates on how it is doing LOL), wandering around the plantation - look out for the wildlife (the wasp is huge and like a sci fi animal!) and enjoy the variety of other plants there, but making your own chocolate bar is exhausting! However, the end result was delicious. Lunch was rather disappointing in the limitations however. I would have loved to have enjoyed the pizza and the crepes - but they were not offer within the lunch menu for the tour! Disappointing to say the least given the price of the tour - you need to review that HC! The staff are delightful, informative, and helpful throughout. you need to be aware that there are a LOT of steps down throughout the tour and then back up again for the chocolate making and for lunch - if you are not fully mobile they can be off putting.

Not to be missed - Highly recommend this experience. Our guide, Nathan, was a delight to listen to with a witty but informative narrative. Grafting our own cacao tree was a unique experience. The tour could have been a bit longer. Making our own chocolate bar was hard work but worth the effort - end result delicious! Lunch was rather disappointing. Limiting our choices was not great - there were dishes I would have liked to try but they were not available as part of the deal - very disappointing. It was also not made clear when I pre-booked my place that I could arrive early to have my lunch BEFORE the tour, rather than taking it after, which made it practically dinner rather than lunch. I also found the explanation of the one way system very difficult to follow - the part where I expected to get out on to the top end of the road was chained off and I ended up driving out of the "in".

Cool and delicious experience - What a cool experience! Chocolate bar making was fun and a bit to work so be prepared to work the cacao nibs into a smooth texture! The facilities are modern and inviting with a great dining area offering unique items like cacao bbq wings and ice cream. While we learned about the history of chocolate and the evolution of the chocolate-making process, we would have loved commentary sharing more about the company as well as the cacao fruit and production and processing to get to the cacao nibs we used to make the bars. We had plenty of time while we mashed the nibs. Overall, a unique experience and would recommend

Fun experience, overpriced - The experience was cool to go there and walk around after making the bar. I enjoyed making the bar as well. The price is a little expensive for how much of a bar you get in the end. Overall kind staff but everything is a bit overpriced.

Not recommended… go to the beach - I hate to say this but it was a very disappointing experience. The value was not there for the high cost of making one chocolate bar. The shop was also disappointing. There are more fun chocolates to buy at the sugar beach chocolate store! I also ordered some treats from the restaurant. I ordered and paid for a hazelnut chocolate and banana crepe. And then was told they were out of both! Had to settle for pineapple and chocolate syrup!

Disappointing - We were a group of 6. Was really looking forward to this but felt very deflated afterwards. Paid about $150 for 2. What we got was 30mins of pounding cocoa nibs, then 30mins of waiting for it to set. Whilst waiting, there was nowhere designated to wait, so we sat around the chocolate shop on display plinths (no seats provided). We were then handed our chocolate bars X 6 in one small bag. Had to ask for separate bags. At best I would think $20 would be closer the price per person. We drove two hours to get there and 2 hours back, so very disappointed.

Over priced and overall disappointing - Guide was great. However the entire experience was underwhelming and rediculously overpriced. We were given pitifully small amounts of cocoa nibs, sugar and cocoa butter without any demonstration of how it reached that state. All we then did for the hour was grind beans and mix the ingredients for 69usd each. I would have expected them to make more of where the cocoa beans had come from (it was not clear whethrr the beans came from st lucia) and how the company was working with loxal communities. The lack of the discussion was telling and leaves me concerned that sustainability and ethical farming is not top of hotel chcoolats list of priorities.
