The piazza has been dedicated to the poet Torquato Tasso who was born in Sorrento and became famous worldwide for his literary masterpieces. -
Villa Fiorentino - This outstanding Villa was donated to the city of Sorrento at the end of the last century, by the married couple Lucia Fiorentino and Antonino Cuomo.
Built at the beginning of the 20th century, its design was inspired by the typical American style houses of the period.
It is surrounded by a lovely garden, part of which was set aside for a children’s playground.
Villa Fiorentino is the seat of the Sorrento Foundation, an institution engaged in promoting tourism and cultural awareness, and hosts high-profile art exhibitions and events. -
Via San Cesareo - Prior to the existence of Corso Italia, both these little roads (Via S.Cesareo and Via Fuoro) were considered the main thorough fares for the town.
Wandering down these little streets, you will absolutely enjoy the vibrant and happy atmosphere of all the little shops displaying their wares. - Chiostro di San Francesco - During the summer time, this becomes a site for classical music concerts a cultural event and is a very popular venue for tourists to celebrate their marriage in a civil ceremony.
