The Most Soulful Way to Experience Sorrento – A Food Tour That Stays With You - Spending a few hours walking, tasting, and learning with Giovanni on the Sorrento Private Food Walking Tour: From Gnocchi to Limoncello was one of the best decisions we made on this trip. It wasn’t just a food tour—it felt like being welcomed into a community and a way of life. From the start, Giovanni made everything feel easy, warm, and inviting. You could tell right away that he wasn’t just showing us the highlights—he was offering us a deeper look into the heart of Sorrento, its people, and its flavors. Having a local guide made all the difference. We didn’t feel like tourists—we felt connected. One thing I really appreciated is that I’m gluten-free, and everyone was so accommodating without making it feel like an inconvenience. Giovanni made sure I could enjoy each stop, and the substitutions were just as thoughtful and delicious. I never once felt like I was missing out, which meant a lot. A standout moment for me was the small market near Marina Grande. The Fior di Latte we tasted there was unbelievably fresh and creamy, and the tomatoes were just stunning—so full of flavor. That little stop really grounded the whole experience for me. It reminded me how nourishing simple, well-loved food can be. Lunch at Gnocchi was another favorite—hands down the best gluten-free gnocchi I’ve ever had. Light, comforting, and full of flavor. You could tell it was made with care and intention, not just as an alternative, but as part of the tradition. The tour itself moved at the perfect pace—slow, relaxed, and rich with insight. Giovanni shared stories that brought each dish and street corner to life, and his love for Sorrento came through in every moment. I walked away with more than just great food—I left with a deeper appreciation for the culture, the history, and the people behind it all. If you’re looking for more than just a food tour—if you want to feel a real connection to the place and its people—this is the one. Truly unforgettable.

Book this tour! - An utterly wonderful experience, sampling the delights of Sorrento’s food scene with Giovanni. The food he curates in the tour is first rate - we’ll be thinking about the provolone del monaco for years to come, and the places he takes you are much more authentic than a lot of the places that you’ll find on the tourist trail. Giovanni is a knowledgeable, intuitive guide whose pride in where he comes from bursts forth. Book this tour - you absolutely will not regret it.

Sorrento With All Your Senses - Wonderful walking through and experiencing Sorrento with Giovanni! Not only did he share his love for his home town, the people and their wares, he was also curious about us and our home. If, like us, you want to connect with the people in the places you visit, you will really enjoy this experience!

Fantastic food and tour guide! - Our walking food tour with Giovanni was wonderful! We spent our first day in Sorrento learning from Giovanni all about the city - its history, culture, and food. Giovanni seemed to know everyone - he was constantly getting stopped in stores/restaurants and on the street with hugs and warm wishes from friends. We felt like we really got a "locals" view of the city and the food culture. He took us to one tiny deli, in particular, that didn't even have a sign - it was fantastic and certainly not a place we would have wandered into on our own. I would highly recommend this tour!

Great way to get to know Sorrento - This was such a great way to start our time in Sorrento. Giovanni was so informative and great with our two boys (11 & 14). We enjoyed all of the food he introduced us to and the history around town. His pride in his town was contagious. Definitely recommend this tour.

Great food, great experience, amazing tour guide!! Do it!! - Great food walking tour - food was great, the selections were perfect, but most of all our guide was amazing (Gianni)!! It rained heavily on the day of our tour, but we hardly noticed because of our experience and mostly our guide. He kept us out of the rain, took us through a great selection of tastings and was great company for the whole trip. Food was amazing, great representation of what Sorrento has to offer. Do this food tour, you won’t regret it!! And hopefully you will have Gianni as your guide! Enjoy!

Excellent - Giovanni was an excellent tour guide, so friendly and informative in both the local food and historical interests in the area. The food was mainly locally grown, delicious and generous in portions. There was never any pressure to buy anything in any of the venues and all the proprietors were very pleasant. I would highly recommend.
