Personalized Perfection! - A word of warning: City Unscripted moves incredibly quickly when it comes to following up on things. I learned this the hard way when I failed to realize that signing up for the tour required me to fill out a questionnaire. To give a quick timescale: I signed up at 9PM, went to bed, and woke up to an email the next morning stating that, since I hadn’t filled out the questionnaire, I’d be auto-assigned to a guide and given a more generalized plan. Understandable if we were in drastically different time zones, but I was just one hour off from theirs (or at least from Taipei’s). However, I emailed them back, filled out the questionnaire, and was promptly put back on track with a guide they must’ve deemed a better match named Megan. Right from the start, and up until the tour began, Megan was incredibly flexible and accommodating of my requests, which I deeply appreciated, knowing how inconvenient it must have been. The actual tour was fantastic: I got to see a nice blend of historical and modern architecture, and it was great being able to ask questions about anything and everything! She clearly knew her stuff and was easy to talk to. Even though the tour went at my pace, we were still able to hit all the beats of her itinerary with time to spare. She offered an extension that I took, so the tour ended up being a whopping 7 hours, but it all went by in a flash. As they say, time flies when you’re having fun! After the tour, I unfortunately left my umbrella with her, but she kindly left it with the staff at my hotel the next day. All in all, it was an absolutely amazing city tour that I’d definitely recommend to anyone interested in everything from mainstream to niche tourist spots! Just keep my warning in mind and make sure to fill out that questionnaire.

Half Day in Taipei! - Winnie is a real pro! She knows her stuff. We packed in so much in our half day tour. She showed us so much, and we really learned a lot about the history and the culture. She set us up to be able to use the metro throughout our trip, which I don't think we would have ventured into without her guidance. Five Stars! Would definitely recommend.

Incredible! - My guide RoRo was very phenomenal! She completely customized the tour to everything I wanted to do. She was so helpful in making getting around the city easy. We had a great day together and saw so much more in a day with her then I ever would have on my own. We got in hiking Elephant mountain, temples, tea tastings, a market and much more! Would highly recommend.

A Day In Taipei We Will Never Forget - As soon as we met Alice at the MRT Station close to our Hotel, we knew it was going to be a great day. Alice is friendly and easy to talk to. She showed us local spots as well as guiding us through the must see attractions of the city. It was an awesome experience. Breakfast at a local eatery in her neighborhood where we tried new food. Taipei 101, Cheung Hai Shek Memorial, and a bike tour through the city ending with a stroll through Old Street. Do your self a favor and book with Alice. You wont be disappointed.

excellent English from Charlotte, who was educated in the U.S. - Our 3-person family group booked a private tour guide, Charlotte, and we were very happy with her. She was with us for half a day. Her English was excellent since she went to college in the U.S. She was friendly and knowledgeable. As requested, she showed us how to use the subway system so we could get around on our own. When we visited C.K.S. Memorial, she explained about current Taiwanese politics and history, which was very interesting. At the Taoist Temple, which was a working temple, she told us what the worshippers were doing and to which gods they were praying. That was fascinating and gave us insight into how religion fits into people's everyday lives. The day before the tour, a family member accidentally left his cell phone in a taxi. We were advised to file a police report, but we didn't know how to do it or whether police officers were conversant in English. So we asked Charlotte to help towards the end of the tour session. She facilitated the process, and with the assistance of outstanding Taiwanese police customer service, we were able to recover the phone. Whew! She went over and above to help with the police. She never complained about going past the time we had originally booked her. Of course, we gave her a generous tip! I have no hesitation in recommending Charlotte. She doesn't just take her clients to places, but she also adds background context to the sights because she's an educated and interesting person.
