Wat Rakhang, the Temple of the Bells, was constructed by Rama I in the late 18th century. During its construction, a bell was discovered here, which was later moved by King Rama II to Wat Phra Kaew, located across the river from Wat Rakhang, and replaced with 5 new bells. The theme of bells is prominent throughout this Temple.
