An exceptional day - We loved this day trip with Kevin who was a welcoming guide, very friendly and great for his sharp knowledge and explanations. We have seen the important places DE the island DE Pico. Kevin adapted the trip according to our ENvy and according DE the changing weather. The landscapes are spectacular and very varied. DE lava flows, lakes, forests, caves, coastal villages and of course Pico have amazed us. Thank you to Kevin for accompanying us on this beautiful day. I recommend 200%.

Exceptional Tour of the island! - This tour was beyond exceptional! Kevin was not just knowledge, but was fun and easy going. We were doing just a day trip from another island, and ran into flight delays and changes, but Kevin remained flexible and easy going. He changed up the tour so that we were still able to getting in all the highlights and even picked us up and dropped us off to different locations because of the flight changes. We got to do everything from learning about the island, to walking around different areas and trails, to picnicking, to wine tasting. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a well rounded full day tour of the island

A true gem of an experience - This private tour was absolutely unforgettable. I loved how this tour showcased so many different sides of Pico Island. It was a perfect blend of nature, geology, and local culture. From the breathtaking views at Lagoa do Caiado to the mysterious Furna do Frei Matias lava cave, every stop was unique and full of wonder. The volcano wine tasting at the end was the cherry on top—delicious and full of character, also we got to try rare volcanic wines and learn how the soil shapes the flavor. Highly recommended! This was much more than just sightseeing. Kevin explained the history and geology of each site, from the formation of the lava tubes to the importance of the lagoas. You can really get a feel for the natural power and beauty of Pico. If you’re visiting Pico, don’t miss this tour. The private format made it feel exclusive and immersive. A true gem of an experience!

Full-Day Tour on Pico Island – A Journey Through Nature, Culture, and Adventure - If you’re looking for the ultimate Pico Island experience, this full-day tour is a must. From start to finish, it was an immersive journey that combined stunning hikes, local flavors, cultural discovery, and unique natural wonders. We were a large group of 20+ men from NYC, which is like herding cats, but Kevin did a wonderful job keeping us on track with a full day of activities that kept our interest and excitement throughout the entire day- 8:30am to 7:30pm! The day began with a scenic drive to the starting point of our hike, where we embarked on a peaceful trek through lush forests. The trail offered a quiet and beautiful introduction to Pico’s diverse landscapes, making it clear that nature here is the island's heart and soul. After the hike, convenient vans pick-up whisked us off to Planalto da Achada, where Kevin explained the island's formation and the beauty of the island's flora, which was truly captivating, setting the perfect tone for the rest of the day. About midday, we had the chance to enjoy a delightful picnic with a stunning view and we even participated in a wine tasting through Art of Wine—an experience that deepened our appreciation for the island’s rich wine culture. The spread featured delicious local products, offering an amazing taste of Pico's flavorful cuisine, perfectly paired with a wine tasting session that showcased Pico’s unique terroir—an experience I highly recommend for wine lovers. The wines were rich, flavorful, and a true reflection of the island's distinct climate. In the afternoon, the adventure continued with a hike through dramatic lava fields that created a striking contrast to the lush landscapes we’d seen earlier. We also visited a charming coastal village, where the atmosphere felt both timeless and welcoming. The UNESCO vineyard landscapes of Pico Island were another highlight of the day. Walking through the vineyards, surrounded by volcanic stone walls and a dramatic backdrop, was an unforgettable experience. To top it all off, we explored a fascinating tunnel cave and had the opportunity to swim in a natural pool—two experiences that made the day feel even more special. The natural pool, in particular, was the perfect way to cool off after an action-packed day. By the end of the tour, we were dropped off back to our hotel, feeling like we had experienced the very essence of Pico Island—its natural beauty, its rich culture, and its unforgettable adventure. This tour is perfect for those who want to truly experience everything the island has to offer in one fantastic day. Sidenote: Kevin even makes his own fantastic soaps! This tour was a perfect way to experience the island’s natural beauty, culture, and charm. He worked with us to develop a private/custom experience, which went roughly as follows: We began with a beautiful hike through the center of the island, then proceeded to the Planalto da Achada area to discuss the island's formation. Kevin’s extensive knowledge of the island's history, flora, and geology--along with the area's natural beauty--made this very engaging. Around midday, we paused for a delicious picnic featuring local products, all enjoyed with an incredible view and a wine tasting highlighting Azorean wines and the unique terroir that make them distinctive. The afternoon was equally magical—hiking across dramatic lava fields, wandering through a picturesque coastal village, and marveling at the UNESCO-listed vineyard landscape. We even ventured into a tunnel cave...and capped the day with a swim in a natural ocean pool—absolutely unforgettable. By time we got home we were tired in the best way, and completely exhilarated. Highly recommended.
