A very nice day - This was a lovely day trip. We were picked up at our hotel in Zihuatanejo and drove to Ixtapa where we got on a little boat to Ixtapa Island. We snorkeled right off the beach and the snorkeling was good. If you are comfortable snorkeling on your own I suggest you avoid the snorkeling guide provided and his long board. Then we at huge delicious shrimp cooked in butter and garlic at Ciprianis. Highly recommend. On the way back our guide, Axel, took us to a small preserve where they were many crocodiles and iguanas as well as many birds and their nests. My husband and I have been studying Spanish and throughout the day Axel spoke to us slowly in Spanish, sharing information about the area and himself, so it was like a private lesson.

Beautiful Ixtapa Island Snorkeling Tour - Ulises and Miss Kelly took us on a beautiful tour to Ixtapa Island where we swam in the warm waters and then snorkeled over the reefs. We saw thousands of colorful fish. We ate some wonderful fresh seafood dishes at one of the outdoor restaurants on the island. Ulises is a fun and outgoing tour operator and conscientious that everyone had a great time. Ulises taught us a lot about Zihua culture and history. We look forward to exploring new parts of Zihua with Ulises next time we return.

Girls trip!! - Fun day relaxing in the sun and surf. Some of our group snorkeled and enjoyed it a lot. I would probably go on a weekday as the ferries and island were quite busy on the weekend. Ulysses took great care of and was very attentive to our group! He shared a lot of local tidbits and made a requested stop for us along the way. Would recommend!!

Fun way to spend an afternoon - We did the excursion from Club Med. Boat picks you up straight from club med. we didn’t realize so many boats go a day so we thought we had missed our boat - communication is a bit challenging at the resort where they pick you up. They have life jackets on the boat but be prepared if you have young kids, they don’t have their size so it’s a bit sketchy. I’ve never been on a boat with young kids without life jackets - seems like an accident waiting to happen on those small boats. Very surprised given it was affiliated with Club Med. Island was great - nice break from the resort. Snorkelling is pretty basic but still fun to get out and try. restaurant is excellent and service is fantastic. They even came out and helped us figure out which boat we had to get on. Bring cash with you for tips. We didn’t have any on us and weren’t able to tip the guys at the boat.

I recommend Ketavi Tours - Ulises is a very reliable tour guide. We used his services to get to and from the airport as well and he picked us up in a roomy air conditioned vehicle. He had cold drinks for us which were welcome after a full day of flying. We enjoyed the relaxing day at Ixtapa Island. The food was good. I prefer “freelance” snorkeling instead of holding onto a surf board but I do agree that it is done this way for the safety of the guests. I would recommend Ulises for tours and transportation service as he is very friendly, upbeat and reliable.

Great guide, OK snorkeling - Host was great. The snorkeling was disappointing if you have snorkels other places. Reef is pretty bleached. Fish but few live corals or other reef life.

Disappointed Big Time - The snorkeling was not the best. Small jelly fish stung everyone. The boat didn't have the proper gear so children had to sit out. Waste of money for all the kids that went. The boat was an old diving boat. I'd use another company for snorkeling.
