Book it now! - 100% amazing! One of the best excursions we booked not from the cruise line. The staff were friendly and helpful. You think the water would be cold but was not at all and I'm always cold. We got to see crabs, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, sea urchants, starfish, etc. We got a nice hot shower at the end with some hot chocolate. If you were unsure to book, you better go book now as you'll not he disappointed! Support a local business.

So glad I did this! - This was a great experience. Well organized and knowledgeable helpful staff. Saw lots of wildlife and guides helpful in finding all the things to see. Wet suits make all the difference and you can’t even tell the waters cold. And yes even at 5’6’’ and 230 lb they had a wet suit that would fit.

The Best Shore Excursion in Ketchikan! - If you like active activities, book this excursion! Fred (the owner) and one of his staff members picked us up right in the heart of downtown and drove our group to their shop by the snorkel site. We were greeted, instructed, and helped into our gear by an additional 3 staff members. In total, our intimate group of 9 guests was helped throughout the excursion by 5 members of the Snorkel Alaska team! I don't think you'd be able to find that level of personalization on any ship/cruise line-provided excursions without paying an arm and a leg for a private tour. Because everyone in our group met up 15 minutes before the tour start time, Fred and the team were more than happy to get us out to the snorkel site early and we had an additional 20 minutes in the water!! I've snorkeled in warmer climates, but this experience was so unique! We saw plenty of fish, sea stars, sea cucumber, sea urchins, and even had a harbor seal come and swim right next to our group. After 1+ hour snorkeling, we were warmed up by the team's "Alaskan Hot Tub" (pouring buckets of warm water on ourselves) before returning to the shop. Outdoor showers and hot chocolate capped off the excursion and we were dropped off downtown to enjoy Ketchikan for a few hours. We are so glad we booked this shore excursion during our Alaska cruise. The highlight of our trip!

So many starfish! - What a cool experience! Snorkeling was definitely not the first thing that came to mind when we booked a trip to Alaska, but I am so glad that we did it! It was an absolutely beautiful day, and after the first few minutes warming up, you truly weren't bothered by the cold water. We saw so many starfish, jellyfish, etc. and even had an otter hanging out on a rock pretty close by. The team was awesome, and Fred even gave us recommendations for our other ports which we took him up on and had a great time. Definitely do this if you're looking for a fun and memorable day!

10/10 Recommend!!! Priceless adventure! - Fred, the owner, as well as his two assistants, have extensive experience with guiding all sorts of snorkel and scuba trips and they are extremely professional and friendly. I was the only one in my cruise group who wanted to do this, and I'm so glad I did. Pros: well organized excursion (picked us up and dropped us off at the port to the minute stated in the itinerary); high quality, clean gear; an excellent balance of a guided tour along with time to explore on our own; learned a lot about the sea life and there was a lot more to see than I anticipated; I especially enjoyed the opportunity to use a weighted belt to free-dive (its completely optional and there was no pressure to try it, but I had always wanted to, and it was really cool!) Cons: None!!! This was the highlight of my cruise and I'm so glad I took the plunge!

Trust the wetsuit! - Just like all the other reviews, we were skeptical, then surprised the wetsuits did in fact keep us insulated. Cold for only a few min the first time you step into the water. Staff gives a detailed explanation of how equipment should fit beforehand and help with flippers/gloves/snorkel mask/etc before they give you the ok to head into the water. Definitely in great hands. Our day had on and off rain, which worked in our favor for underwater visibility. Loooooots of jellyfish the moment you snorkel. Highlight was Fred pointing out a wolf eel. We came in by cruise, and after snorkeling still had plenty of time to explore Ketchikan afterwards. Would highly recommend!

A "MUST DO" IN KETCHIKAN! - I can't recommend this tour enough. Fred, Kurt and Liz were PHENOMENAL!!! They helped with everything from how to put on our wet-suits and how to use our gear, to understanding what we would be seeing once we were in the water. Of course the water is cold, it's Alaska, but that's the whole point. This Snorkel Alaska experience was absolutely worth the time, money and "shivers!"

Awesome snorkel experience in Ketchikan. - Great experience snorkeling in the waters of Ketchikan. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather and even better we were the only 2 people who had signed up for the afternoon snorkel, so basically ended up a private tour! Saw some interesting sea life including up close starfish, sea cucumber, penpoint gunnel and a couple different kinds of perch. Lots of beautiful jellyfish (non-stinging) in our cove as well as curious harbour seal and river otter watching our trip. Very well-organized and well-run with lots of good gear, thanks Fred! Pretty cold water, but comfortable over an hour in the water. Awesome experience I would recommend.

Amazing unique Alaska activity - Fred and team were awesome. This experience was so unique when looking for something to do in Alaska! It was exhilarating, refreshing, colorful, and absolutely amazing. I wish I had more photos to share but they are currently stored on my GoPro awaiting download when I get home. The activity is strenuous but so much fun.
