Saint Sophia - Dedicated to Holy Wisdom, this cathedral was constructed on the remnants of an early Christian basilica. It was renovated and adorned with frescoes during Archbishop Leo’s time between 1037 and 1056. For centuries, it served as the seat of the Ohrid Archbishopric, overseeing a vast region from the Danube to the Albanian coast and the Bay of Thessalonica.
