A peaceful break from most cruise shore excursions. - Well organized kayak tour with helpful and knowledgeable guides. We saw bald eagles, kingfishers, sea lions, star fish, sea urchins, and jelly fish.

Great Experience - A great kayak experience for beginners - the guides take good care of you to be sure you know what you’re doing. Our guide Josh and Lily were very knowledgeable about the area we toured and the wildlife which I loved learning about. Highly recommend!

Once in a lifetime experience. - This was not, by anyone’s standards, a normal tour. This wasn’t for tourists. I don’t mean that in any sort of derogatory manner, as the tourists are the life-blood for everyone involved. I mean only to distinguish vacationers from people who rely on these enchanted waters to pay our bills, and dedicate the majority of our time and energy to providing memorable experiences to those who are visiting (even though it’s an honor, a pleasure, and a blast to do so). This was a morale boosting excursion, paid for by Allen Marine, for close friends, coworkers, and wildlife experts & enthusiasts who are already thrilled and grateful to be here and do what we do, whether it’s crossing Crow’s Pass on DIB4 (which RULES BTW) to get to the “Otter side,” perpetually driving back and forth across this 14 mile stretch of road to assemble a team of All Stars, or working in the Kitchen at Finn Island and routinely picking pieces of Snow Crab from the carpet for the hundreds of Cruise Shippers who pass through everyday, and whom it is a pleasure to serve. Yesterday was absolutely bonkers! The sound of all that energy being expended alone was incredible, and EXTREMELY audible. Thinking that I might die and feeling the natural trepidation one should feel when forty tons is falling from the sky, in multiples, in such close proximity should, for anyone, cause concern. Despite having ample experience and many lifetimes worth of very close encounters with these majestic creatures, I still felt a mix of euphoria and unease. If there’s six-million ways to die, that’s the one I choose! But we weren’t really ever in any danger. We don’t give the Baleen’s their just credit and due respect, aside from the awe they inherently inspire in person, despite a plethora of documented incidents where they intervene and save various species from actual threats. They knew where we were, and I don’t doubt for a second that they felt our mojos. We kept our distance, in accordance with the Marine Mammal Protection Act, but “Vegas rules” were in effect and they came to us and put on a spectacular show. It was literally raining friends. What an incredible day, forever forged in the hearts and minds of everyone fortuitous enough to be present. Apologies to my coworkers, mine and Adventure Sitka’s who although thrilled to see the footage at first, are likely tired of hearing Rashelly’s screams over and over again. We’re not rubbing salt in the wound, and wish you all could have been there too; we just can’t believe that actually happened. Can’t express my gratitude enough to Jordan, Colter, and Grace, the Kayak Guides, as well as the Captain who took us, and Kira, the lead Tour Representative. You are all amazing. Seems like it’s a prerequisite to be strappingly handsome or an absolute smoke-show to be employed there, but this beautiful staff is comprised of experienced, enthusiastic professionals who provide an experience one will never forget. I certainly won’t.

Lovely escape - So relaxing and beautiful. Great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cruise crowd and see some of the real beauty of Alaska. Rhee and Nathan were professional and knowledgeable and had a wealth of information to share about the local marine life and lay of the land. Top notch organization. Well worth it! Felt safe and comfortable for our all ages group from grandparents to kids.

Just kayaking in the ocean - This tour wasn’t very exciting but if you want to Kayak the ocean to an estuary and possibly see a bald eagle or sea lion, this would be the tour for you. To be fair, it was pouring rain and chilly. Guides were very nice and knowledgeable.

Guides great, average excursion - This Kayaking tour was average at best, except for the guides who were exceptional. Not to much to see except a couple of minks, starfish and kelp. You start at the dock and kayak over to another small area and return back to the dock. I would of liked to of kayaked more but just alot of floating in kayak. Oh well second time to Sitka and 2 average excursions. Like I said the guides were very nice and good, just not an excursion we enjoyed.

Good, not great - Been sea kayaking a number of times. It was fun, but pretty average overall. Guides weren’t wildlife experts, not much wildlife to see, outside of salmon.
