The studio provides an immersive experience in wet plate collodion portraiture and its development process. In today’s digital age, where countless photos are captured daily with simple mobile devices and digital cameras, the majority of these images are stored and often forgotten on computers. The studio seeks to offer the opposite; something tangible and valuable that demands attention. This intricate and distinctive process involves coating, sensitizing, exposing, and developing the photographic material within approximately fifteen minutes while the plate remains wet, hence the name. Creating a wet plate can be time-intensive, unpredictable, and demands significant dedication and patience, but the outcome is a unique, stunning, and enduring piece.
