- Sinharaja Forest Reserve - Sinharaja Rainforest, few virgin forests left in the world. This evergreen rain forest, a UNESCO World heritage site, is one of the few virgin rain forests left to date. Damp mysterious and teeming with life, is the last expensive stretch of virgin rain forest on the island. At just over 11000 hectares, line across the wet zone the Southern edge of the hill country. It is staggering array of flora and fauna place it among the top bio diversity in the world. Over 130 birds, species are found here including many of the 33 species endemic to the Sri Lanka. There also rich reptile population and myriads of insects species, many yet to be classified. Mammals scenes here including the purple faced langur monkey and the giant squirrel. It is preferable to explore Sinharaja on foot, which makes for the truly authentic jungle experience.

Additional Information
The journey begins at 8:00am with a pickup from your hotel. The tour team will meet you to transit to Sinharaja Rainly Forest. Your wildlife guide will accompany you through the forest, showcasing various animal species throughout. The forest hosts a plethora of diverse plants and animals. You may spot monkeys, snakes, chameleons, an array of birds, and a wide variety of tropical plants, trees, flowers and a stunning waterfall. During the tour, you’ll have an opportunity to swim and bathe at a waterfall within the forest and enjoy a meal. After an enjoyable tour, we will drop you back at a hotel of your choice. You are at liberty to make unlimited stops for photo ops along the way. You also have the option to add extra locations to visit if you prefer.

Everything went extremely well. Roshan (Owner) got in touch with all details and was very nice! Guide and driver - great - Guide and driver - extremely friendly and fun people. True professionals! Roshan, the owner - 2 days before the trip sent all details and delivered everything 100% on time and in nice manner.

Rainforest tour - Very well organized. Our driver was great and very safe on the roads and our rainforest guide was so knowledgeable and we saw lots of wildlife in it's natural habitat. His wife's cooking is delicious as well.

Experience of a lifetime - Visiting the Sinharaja forest has been a life changing experience in all aspects. Great organisation and communication!
We want to say a special thank you to Mr Wigitha, our tour guide inside the rainforest. He is so knowledgeable, humble and he carried a beautiful aura about his passion for nature and way of life.

Stress-free and awesome - We booked this the night before and everything was seamless from the moment I paid! Roshan was super helpful, called straight away and picked us up promptly the following morning. Our driver, Padmal, was really nice and gave us a good comfortable journey up from Galle to Sinharaja. The tour guide, Wigitha, was excellent and we saw loads of animals including snakes, spiders, monkeys and a bunch of birds and bats. We were even followed by a couple dogs who we named Tommy and Oli and were very good boys.

Successful day trip to the rainforest! - We had booked a full day trip. We were picked up from the hotel on time and the driver was very friendly. In the national park we had a very experienced guide who showed us all kinds of animals and plants. At the end we had the opportunity to swim in a natural pool and then had lunch in the jungle (very tasty!).
After the tour we were able to visit a tea factory for free.

Gorgeous Sinharaja rain forest - It was amazing Tour. Everything from beginning was awesome. Driver came on time we were listening to our music. Driver was polite and showed us cinnamon tree, tea plant during the trip and stopped to show us great view. The rainy forest another extremely beautiful place with awesome tour agent who showed all insects and animals which were there. Finally amazing waterfall where swim and then had lunch. Perfect trip definitely recommend it.

Great experience - Our trip went as planned, without any inconvenience. We had an excellent guide who told us many interesting things about the rainforest and the animals that live in it. He observes very good, he showed us many animals - monkeys, snakes, rare species of birds and butterflies... The only inconvenience, which is unfortunately unavoidable, are leeches.

Fascinating day out - Our driver picked us up early and drove us 100km north, along winding roads through villages with dogs sleeping in the road around every corner.
Eventually we arrived at the Sinharaja Forest Reserve where we met our guide and after a short tuk tuk ride, commenced our three hour trek through the rain forest.
The humidity was insane and we were quickly soaked. The flora and fauna made it worth it though.
On arrival, the guide rubbed rock salt into our shoes to deter the leeches, which was semi-successful.
We saw peacocks, water buffalo, butterflies, eagles, millipedes, fish owl, lizards, fish and a green viper. I said ‘that looks pretty small’ but was then informed a bite can kill you!
Walking behind my wife and watching her jump at every twig thinking it was a snake was one of my highlights!
Also saw durian fruit, jack fruit, cinnamon, white pepper, wild pineapple, and coffee beans before stopping for a provided lunch at a waterfall.
On the drive home, after passing many cows roaming free, we stopped at the Lumbini tea plantation where we were lucky enough to be given a private tour of the factory.

Amazing experience with wonderful guides - We had an amazing trip. It was well organised, we got supplied with water and a filling lunch. The guides were amazing and ready to answer random questions about Sri Lanka. The hiking guide was amazing at spotting animals in the distance. If it weren't for him we would have missed a lot. Also a very interesting visit to the tea plantage.
Overall, a perfect day in the rain forest. Can highly recommend!
