  • Lake Duluti - Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, embark on a journey to Lake Duluti for a 2-hour paddle in a canoe. Discover the local plant and animal life, and if the weather is clear, take in the sights of Mounts Meru and Kilimanjaro. Following your time on the water, you’ll transition to a bicycle to ride to the Mangalia Waterfalls, a trip that takes about 3 hours in total.
  • Tengeru - En route to the Mangalia Waterfalls, a 3-hour journey in total, you’ll traverse the villages of Patandi, Mavinuni, and Akheri, offering a glimpse into the everyday life and culture of Tanzania. The tour includes a brief visit to a coffee plantation, where you’ll learn about the growth of coffee, a significant export of Tanzania. You’ll spend approximately 30-40 minutes at the waterfall, where you’re invited to take a dip in the invigorating mountain waters. On the return trip, we’ll stop by a local home-brewery to discover the process behind making traditional banana beer, known as mbege. The tour concludes with a meal of local cuisine at a quaint neighborhood eatery.

Additional Information

The tour begins with a two-hour canoe trip around Lake Duluti. Guests will enjoy views of Mounts Meru and Kilimanjaro when on the water (weather permitting) and learn about the flora and fauna found at the lake as well as the surrounding forest. We will then cycle from the lake to Mangalia Waterfalls (3-5 hours total) where they can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool mountain water. Along the way we pass through coffee farms and visit a small home-brewery where traditional banana beer is prepared. This experience of Tanzanian life and culture ends with lunch at a small restaurant where we have a typical local meal.
