Highlights
  • Rancho Del Rio - The Upper Colorado River is one of the best river sections in the State to try out river toys. There are several stretches of slow-moving water on our Colorado River trips that are perfect to play around on an inflatable kayak. We run inflatable kayaks alongside guided river trips.

An inflatable kayak or “ducky” is a sit-on-top style kayak made of rubber that has multiple chambers filled with air. This offers a more personal experience with the river meaning you will follow your guides but will navigate your own boat down the river. We have both single passengers as well as double-person ducks for those who would like to paddle with a partner. You must be at least 12 years old to use a ducky on this trip.

Conveniently located to Winter Park and Breckenridge, Silverthorne, and Dillon, Upper Colorado River Rafting provides mild Class I-II rapids and occasional Class III rapids at higher water flow! Feel free to bring the entire family on this journey, as there is sure to be something for everyone.

First timer? No problem! Our guides will help you get comfortable with your river craft. The trip is approximately 3.5 hours.

Additional Information

This portion of the Colorado River delivers picturesque sights consisting of meadows, valleys, expansive ranch grounds, and steep canyon walls, and is inhabited by various species including bald eagles, deer, beavers, and big horn sheep - there’s always an interesting sight.

You have the option to paddle towards a sandy coast to meet geese families, to the boundaries of large cliffs, or circumvent smaller hurdles, all depending on your sense of adventure. Bring a companion for a dual ride, or savor solitude in a single-seater ducky.

Upper Colorado River Rafting offers gentle Class I-II rapids and infrequent Class III rapids during high water flow. If your group is in for a thrilling experience, then the high-water season, from mid-June to early July, is the ideal time to visit. Peak water levels can result in a thrilling adventure. Opt for a challenging route or evade it in your own ducky!

Soo much fun!! Wanna go back - Guide was very cool but also professional at the same time. Had a blast on the rapid sections. We chose the kayaks. Definitely plan on getting wet if you are on kayaks.

Great Upper Colorado trip - We had a wonderful guided trip from Pump-house to Radium on the upper Colorado river. Connor was the Trip Leader and Jake was our kayak guide. Both were great. There was an extended family on our trip that rode in the raft with Connor. All of the guides were good with their small children. We met Jake on Saturday when we stopped by to look around and he was very helpful telling us about trip options and what to expect. We were pleased to find out he was our guide today 8/22. The trip was relatively tame since the flow was only 932 cps but it was still a lot of fun and the scenery was great. This outfitter was very strong on safety and having fun. I’d highly recommend them for your next whitewater trip.

Tanner was AWESOME! - Tanner was such a great guide! He always prepared us for what was coming up ahead on the river, and let us know which side of the river we should stay on to avoid rocks! He showed us all the cool little spots, and let us stop to jump off rocks! :)
