From Rock Fortress to Royal City: Sigiriya to Kandy

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Begin your day early with a climb up the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress. As you ascend, discover ancient frescoes, the famous Mirror Wall, and beautifully designed water gardens. At the top, enjoy panoramic views over the surrounding jungle and countryside.

After the visit, proceed towards Kandy. On the way, explore the sacred Dambulla Cave Temple, filled with centuries-old Buddha statues and vibrant wall paintings. Stop at a spice garden to learn about Sri Lanka’s renowned spices and herbal traditions.

Arrive in Kandy and relax in the evening, with time to stroll around the lake or explore the serene hill-country atmosphere.

Tea Trails & Highland Beauty: Kandy to Ella

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Sri Lanka’s most important cultural and religious sites. Afterwards, visit a gem museum in Kandy to learn about the island’s world-famous gemstones and traditional craftsmanship.

Continue your scenic journey towards the hill country, passing through Nuwara Eliya. The road winds through lush tea plantations, mist-covered hills, and cascading waterfalls, offering some of the most breathtaking views in Sri Lanka.

Visit a tea plantation and factory to discover the process of producing world-famous Ceylon tea, followed by a tasting session. Stop at the beautiful Devon Falls for photos before continuing your journey.

Ella - Ella is a charming mountain town in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, famous for its stunning scenery, tea plantations, waterfalls, and railway views. It’s one of the most popular travel stops in the country because it combines easy hikes with some of the most iconic landscapes in Sri Lanka.

Into the Wild: Ella to Yala National Park

Nine Arches Bridge - After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the famous Nine Arch Bridge, an iconic railway bridge surrounded by lush greenery and one of the most photographed spots in Ella. Continue with a stop at the beautiful Ravana Falls, where you can enjoy the scenic views and a short break.

Then leave the hill country behind and descend into the dry-zone landscapes as you travel towards Yala, observing the changing scenery from green mountains to open plains and scrub forests.

After checking in, embark on an exciting jeep safari in Yala National Park. Guided by experienced trackers, explore the park’s diverse terrain in search of elephants, leopards, crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species. The safari offers a true close-to-nature experience and excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.

Yala National Park - Yala National Park is not just a safari park—it is a vast protected wilderness that represents the dry-zone ecological heart of Sri Lanka. Covering a huge area in the southeast of the island, it blends ancient forests, coastal ecosystems, wetlands, and grasslands, making it one of the most biologically diverse national parks in Asia.

It is also the most studied and most visited wildlife reserve in Sri Lanka, especially famous for its Sri Lankan leopard population, but its ecological importance goes far beyond that single species.

Yala to Bentota / Unawatuna

Bentota - After breakfast, continue your journey along the southern coastline, passing fishing villages, palm-lined beaches, and scenic ocean views. The drive itself is relaxing and showcases Sri Lanka’s coastal beauty.

Arrive at Bentota or Unawatuna and check in at your beach hotel. Spend the rest of the day unwinding by the sea—swim in the warm waters, relax on the sandy beach, or enjoy optional activities such as water sports or a sunset stroll along the shore.

Colombo - After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at the beach or hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, you may take a final walk along the coast or simply unwind before departure.

Later, transfer to Colombo Airport via the expressway. Sit back and reflect on your journey as you travel comfortably to the airport, marking the end of your memorable Sri Lanka experience.
