Day 01: Arrival at Airport - Sigiriya
Habarana - Upon arrival, an English-speaking driver will warmly welcome you and transport you to Sigiriya. In the evening, enjoy a 4x4 safari in Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Hurulu Eco National Parks, depending on elephant sightings. You can also indulge in a herbal massage in Sigiriya. Day 01: Arrival at Airport - Sigiriya

In the evening, enjoy a 4x4 safari in Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Hurulu Eco National Parks, depending on elephant sightings. You can also indulge in a herbal massage in Sigiriya. Minneriya National Park - Situated in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province, Minneriya National Park features a well-preserved forest with ponds and diverse wildlife. Although wildlife sightings can vary, the park is renowned for the “gathering,” a spectacular event in September and October when over 300 elephants gather on the Minneriya bed.
Day 02: Sigiriya - Kandy
Sigiriya - For an optimal experience climbing Sigiriya Rock, it’s best to start early in the morning before the sun becomes too intense. This allows for better photos and an easier climb. After breakfast at the hotel, travel to Kandy. En route, visit Cave Temple Dambulla, Nalanda Gedige, Mathale Spice Garden (for a visit only), Gem Museum and Workshop, and Hindu Temple. Later, enjoy a Kandy city tour and the traditional Kandyan Cultural Dance Performance at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). Overnight stay in Kandy.
Dambulla Royal Cave Temple and Golden Temple - Known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, this World Heritage Site (1991) is located in central Sri Lanka, 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, with the rock towering 160 m above the plains and over 80 documented caves in the area.
Nalanda Gedige - Nalanda Gedige is an ancient stone temple near Matale, Sri Lanka, considered the geographical center of the country. Built between the 8th and 10th centuries with Dravidian architecture, it is believed to have been used by Buddhists.
Luck Grove Spice Garden - Founded over three decades ago, Luck Grove Spice Garden is an Ayurvedic company known for its quality service and products. Visitors are treated to warm local hospitality and guided tours of the garden.
Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - While in Kandy, don’t miss the Kandy Lake Club Cultural Dance Show, showcasing Sri Lankan arts, dance, and cultural heritage. Established in 1982, it unites various Sri Lankan dance forms on one stage and has become a popular tourist attraction. The show has been running continuously for 35 years.
Day 03: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya - After breakfast, visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, then travel to Nuwara Eliya, stopping at Ramboda Falls, Tea Plantation, and Tea Factory. Enjoy a Nuwara Eliya City Tour. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Royal Botanical Gardens - Located about 5.5 km west of Kandy city in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, near the Mahaweli River, the Royal Botanic Gardens in Peradeniya is a must-see for tourists. In 2016, it attracted 1.2 million local and 400,000 foreign visitors, renowned for its extensive orchid collection.
Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls, at 109 m high, is the eleventh tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th tallest in the world. It is located in the Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass, formed by the Panna Oya, a tributary of the Kothmale Oya.
Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - Damro boasts an impressive collection of tea plantations, covering over 5,000 hectares across Sri Lanka’s major tea-growing regions. With 12 factories, they produce a variety of Ceylon’s finest teas, including Rotorvane, Orthodox, CTC, and Green tea, popular in both local and international markets.
Day 04: Nuwara Eliya - Ella Train Ride
Ella - After breakfast, visit Gregory Lake and Victoria Park Garden. Take the 12:40 panoramic train ride to Ella. Later, climb Little Adam’s Peak. Overnight stay in Ella.
Gregory Lake - Nuwara Eliya is home to Lake Gregory, a man-made lake dating back to 1873 during British Governor Sir William Gregory’s tenure. Located in the heart of the hill city, it is surrounded by the picturesque Gregory Lake Area in Sri Lanka’s tea country.
Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya - Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya is a charming public park near the local post office. Initially a research field for the Hakgala Botanical Garden, it was renamed in honor of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
Day 05: Ella - Yala National Park
Yala National Park - After breakfast, drive to Thissamaharama, visiting Nine Arches Bridge and Rawana Waterfall along the way. Enjoy a 4x4 safari in Yala National Park in the evening, the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka, located along the Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight stay in Thissamaharama (Yala).
Rawana Falls - Named after the legendary character Ravana from the Indian epic Ramayana, Ravana Falls is believed to be where Ravana hid Princess Sita in the caves behind the waterfall, now known as Ravana Ella Cave. The area was once surrounded by dense forests.
Nine Arches Bridge - The Nine Arch Bridge, built in 1921, is a remarkable engineering and architectural feat between Ella and Demodara railway stations. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of rolling hills and dense jungle. Known as the ‘Bridge in the Sky,’ it was constructed by connecting two bog mountains during the Badulla-Colombo railway construction. The bridge spans 300 feet, is 25 feet wide, and stands 80-100 feet tall, exemplifying colonial-era railway construction in Sri Lanka. To reach the bridge, travel 2km on Gotuwala road from Halpe Textile center on Badulla Bandarawela road. Its architectural ingenuity and lush greenery have increased tourism in the area. Visit when locomotives pass by and bring a camera to capture this picturesque wonder.
Day 06: Yala - Mirissa
Mirissa - After breakfast, drive to Mirissa to visit Hummanaya Blowhole. Spend the evening enjoying the beach. Overnight stay in Mirissa.
Hummanaya Blow Hole - The Hummanaya Blowhole is a unique natural wonder in Sri Lanka and the second-largest blowhole in the world. The name ‘Hummanaya’ is derived from the distinctive “hoo” sound heard from a distance when the blowhole is active.
Day 07: Mirissa - Bentota
Mirissa Beach - Start the day with an optional whale watching excursion, where you may see blue whales, dolphins, and other marine life. Return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Relax on the beach, swim, or explore beach cafés and local restaurants offering fresh seafood and tropical drinks. Overnight stay in Mirissa.
Galle Dutch Fort - The historic Galle Dutch Fort is rich in history, with stories that resonate through every traveler’s photos and captions. Originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, it was later fortified by the Dutch in the 17th century and eventually taken over by the British. For over two centuries, Galle was a bustling trading port for spices and other goods. Today, the fort is a place of history, romance, and beauty, welcoming visitors to immerse themselves in its exotic tales and become part of this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site.
KOSGODA Turtle Conservation and Research Centre - Located on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project aims to protect endangered sea turtles by preserving nesting sites and providing a hatchery for rescued eggs. Visitors can tour the small beachside facility to see the turtles, learn about their life cycle, and understand the project’s conservation efforts.
Day 08: Bentota - Airport
Colombo - After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to say goodbye to Sri Lanka. You will be transported to either Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo or Negombo to begin your journey home.
