Unique and sporting experience - An ascent of more than 1000 steps to the summit. A sporty walk, but worth the detour. An exceptional and unique view. A return to history full of emotions. FABULOUS!!!

Breathtaking - It's THE thing to do in Sri Lanka and perhaps the most impressive place. This 370m red and ocher monolith is worth the trip. You have to go there as early as possible to avoid the crowds and the hot weather. Then, take your time to climb all these steps and don't look in the 2nd part after the Lion's paws. If you are prone to vertigo, avoid this last part. The view at the top is incredible and the remains of the fortress give a small idea of the megalomania of the king who took refuge there. A large swimming pool and remains of walls remain.

Excellent service - Wonderful experience, driver arrived about 10 minutes early and was friendly. Provided lots of information about Sri Lanka on the way to Anuradhapura, also was kind enough to stop for food and at a convenience store for me when I mentioned I lost my airpods and needed to get new ones. Provided excellent service and I arranged a transfer from Sigiriya to Kandy after the trip to Anuradhapura. Highly recommend for any excursions or transfers during your stay in Sri Lanka :)

Sigiriya , Mihintale and Anuradapura - This sacred city was established around a cutting from the 'tree of enlightenment', the Buddha's fig tree, brought there in the 3rd century B.C. by Sanghamitta, the founder of an order of Buddhist nuns. Anuradhapura, a Ceylonese political and religious capital that flourished for 1,300 years, was abandoned after an invasion in 993. Hidden away in dense jungle for many years, the splendid site, with its palaces, monasteries and monuments, is now accessible once again.

Nice day trip - While a tour guide is not included, the driver did his best to show me the places I wanted to see and customized the trip based on my list.
