- Villa di Geggiano - In this hamlet, we’ll pause outside the Castle to learn about the Bianchi Bandinelli family, the area’s lords, and the production of Chianti Classico. We’ll also take photos while admiring Siena’s skyline.
- Vallepicciola - The landscape here becomes hilly, with cypresses lining the roads and castles dominating the territory. This is where we encounter the famous gravel white roads of Chianti Classico, known for the Eroica race. We’ll pass by the Vallepicciola Winery before entering the Castles Roads, making stops for photos and storytelling along the way.
- Pianella - We continue along the white gravel roads, taking time for photos and storytelling until we reach Monti in Chianti.
- Monti - We’ll stop at a local café in Monti in Chianti to stretch, use the restroom, and taste Sienese biscuits and pastries before heading to the Castle of Cacchiano.
- Castello di Cacchiano - We’ll pass by this castle and admire it from a distance, making stops to take in the landscape. The estimated time from Monti in Chianti to Brolio Castle is 30 minutes.
- Castello di Brolio - We’ll dismount our bikes for a guided tour of the castle, learning about the historical conflicts between Siena and Florence and the Ricasoli family. We’ll also visit the wine cellar to learn about and possibly taste some Chianti Classico wines produced by Vinicola Ricasoli.
- Barone Ricasoli - Here, each person can enjoy a glass of wine, choosing from three types of Chianti Classico or other excellent varieties. Additional glasses of wine can be purchased if desired.
- Agribar Brolio - After the wine tasting, we’ll relax at this iconic old-style bar, a popular stop for cyclists and enthusiasts. We’ll have some water and snacks before resuming our ride.
- Borgo di San Gusme - After the guided tour and wine tasting at Brolio/Ricasoli, we’ll get back on our bikes and head to a restaurant to sample typical Tuscan cuisine. The restaurant is located in this charming hamlet, where you’ll have time to explore its monuments and local culture.
- Siena - We’ll return to Siena on our e-bikes via the gravel roads of Chianti and some local provincial roads, with short breaks for storytelling and optional stops for coffee or restroom breaks.
