At 5 am, you’ll be transported to the temple complex by an air-conditioned car or van for larger groups. Visit the magnificent Angkor Wat during this peaceful time of day when the crowds are minimal, allowing you to experience the structure in its most tranquil state.

Next, head north to explore Basei ChamKrong, built in 947 AD by Harshavarman I and dedicated to the Hindu god Siva. This pyramid temple has a layout similar to a pyramid in the ancient Maya city of Tikal, dating back to around 741 AD in Central America. Then, proceed to the Bayon temple, known for its smiling faces, located in the heart of Angkor Thom, an ancient city that had a population of about 300,000 people in the thirteenth century. Later, visit the Dead Gate of Angkor Thom, a filming location for the 2001 movie Tomb Raider.

Enjoy a local lunch.

After lunch, visit the jungle-clad temple of Ta Prohm, where you’ll witness the tentacle-like tree roots slowly enveloping the remaining stones, creating a hauntingly beautiful scene.
