Wow! - Ok, so this blew my expectations out the window. What a tour! Overall it was amazing and such good value, but there were a few things that really stood out for me. First of all: The combination of interesting and tasty. While the tour helped to show and explain so much about the cultural and ethnic diversity of Northern Thailand, most of the dishes were simply ridiculously tasty! A nod to Anthony Bourdain to start us off, some local dishes that I would have struggled to come across or order without any guidance (buffalo laarb, I’m looking at you!), the amazing tea leaf salad in a Shan neighbourhood, and yes… I thought I had eaten amazing crispy pork belly before but this was by far the best I’ve ever tasted! So many more bites and sweet treats to mention but yes, taste buds were overjoyed. Secondly: The diversity of food (and areas) was refreshing. From spicy to sweet, from complex to simple perfection, from easy approachable to challenging (yup, some fun curve balls haha)… I enjoyed that the guide showed such a broad palette of Thailand’s food heritage and took us to neighbourhoods and markets I probably never would have discovered during my stay in Chiang Mai. It left me with the feeling of having seen a bit of the real Chiang Mai. Thirdly: Enjoyable! Even though we tasted so much food and visited many different places, it never felt rushed or repetitious. I find that tours can sometimes feel a bit unnatural at times, or a bit too scripted so to say, but this was smooth as silk..... We had time to enjoy every stop with food and conversations and our guide would expand on any question and provide so much in-depth knowledge. Simply four hours of pure enjoyment! My strongest recommendation for anyone who want to get to know Northern Thailand a bit more. Or if you just love good food.

Best food tour ever - Maui our guide was friendly and approachable right from the start. There was an extensive range of food with detailed explanations from Moui. She explained some of the local history and could answer all our questions. We did this our first day in Chiang Mai and the tour gave us a good perspective of what to eat and where as well as the general layout of the city. We did the morning tour and enjoyed every bite. There was more than enough food. We certainly recommend this to others.

Chiang Mai amazing food tour. - Excellent your. Our guide Moui pronounce My U was exceptional. She arrived with a bag full of small containers of spices for us to smell and taste. We tasted most of Chiang Mai’s greatest hits at authentic family run restaurants/food stalls and finished up at the market. Moui was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. My advice is to do this tour and ask for Moui. 5 stars.

Best ever food tour - Exceptional food tour. I did the lunchtime one. I have done many in many countries. This was number 1 by far. Moui our guide had exceptional food, cultural and historical knowledge. The food stops were all winners, Chaing Mai’s and Thailands greatest hits. If you are doing a food tour this is the one and if you get Moui you have won the food tour lottery.

Highly recommend - best tour guide! - We had such a wonderful time with our guide Khun Moui, she was so passionate and a wealth of knowledge not only about food but also Thai history. It was only the 2 of us and she took fantastic care of us during the tour. All the stops were very different and we were able to actually meet some of the restaurant owners, who were so appreciative of the support Moui and her team brings to these hidden gems. Definitely a MUST DO while in Chiang Mai! This is a lot of food so skip breakfast that morning :-)

Highly Recommend! You will get your money worth. - Kung was fantastic tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and excited about the food and culture. She also gave us space to just enjoy the food, which was a great balance. The tour and amount of food provided is a lot. You will be full! You may be over full. By time we got to market we were all stuffed, but Kung lead us on getting many many market treats including insects for which no one was going to try, but that’s okay. The restaurants we went to were great quality and felt local. Would recommend.
