The 7km coastline is adorned with approximately 30,000 pine trees, offering a timeless view of Mt. Fuji that has symbolized Japan for generations. When Mt. Fuji was designated a World Heritage Site, Miho-no-Matsubara was included as a component. Visitors can also find Hagoromo no Matsu, a legendary pine tree said to have been visited by an angel.
- Kunozan Toshogu Shrine - Kunozan Toshogu is a Shinto shrine honoring Tokugawa Ieyasu, who unified Japan after centuries of division and founded the Edo Shogunate around 400 years ago. Situated on the 216m-high Mt. Kuno in Nihondaira, the recommended approach is via ropeway gondola from Nihondaira. From the shrine, visitors can enjoy views of Suruga Bay and the Izu Peninsula. After paying respects and admiring the richly decorated buildings, visitors should explore the Kunozan Toshogu Museum, which houses treasures related to the Tokugawa family, including armor and helmets.

- Nihondaira Ropeway - Nihondaira is a scenic hilly area at an altitude of about 300m overlooking Suruga Bay, offering a stunning view of Mt. Fuji. From here, Mt. Fuji rises beyond the tea fields, accompanied by Suruga Bay, and a shift in gaze reveals the southern Japan Alps. A must-see is the nighttime view at sunset, where the lights of Shimizu City below begin to twinkle, creating a romantic scene. Capturing a photograph with the nightscape as a backdrop is highly recommended.
- Nihondaira Parkway - Nihondaira is a picturesque hilly area at an altitude of about 300m facing Suruga Bay, known for its breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji. From this vantage point, Mt. Fuji stands beyond the tea fields, with Suruga Bay in attendance, and a change in perspective reveals the southern Japan Alps. The nighttime view at sunset is a highlight, as the lights of Shimizu City below start to shimmer, crafting a romantic scene. Taking a photograph with the nightscape in the background is a must.
- Oigawa Kawagoe Square - Oigawa Railway is celebrated for its traditional steam locomotives that operate over 300 days a year. Four steam trains are part of its fleet, and the sight of these vintage trains traversing the pastoral landscape and along the beautiful Oi River is admired by many railway enthusiasts. The trains run between Shin-Kanaya Station and Senzu Station one to three times daily, covering approximately 37km in about an hour (one way). All seats are reserved, so advance reservations are recommended, though seats may be available without a reservation upon arrival.
- Shizuoka Sengen Shrine - Shizuoka Sengen Shrine is a collective name for three shrines: Kanbe, Asama, and Otoshimioya. The expansive precincts feature magnificent shrine buildings, including the bright vermilion Romon Gate, the Ohaiden Hall, and the main shrines of Kanbe and Asama. “Chigomai,” which is said to have moved Lord Ieyasu, is dedicated during Hatsukaesai, the annual festival in April. The Shizuoka City Cultural Assets Museum, preserving and exhibiting valuable documents related to the Imagawa and Tokugawa families, is located within the precincts.
- Sumpu Castle Park - Sumpu Castle Park is a historic site in the heart of Shizuoka City, built on the grounds of the former Sumpu Castle. Originally constructed in the late 16th century, it later served as the retirement residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
Today, the park features reconstructed structures like the East Gate and Tatsumi Yagura (corner tower), along with tranquil gardens, open lawns, and walking paths. Fuji and protection from volcanic eruptions.
The shrine boasts elegant traditional architecture, a tranquil atmosphere, and a beautiful spring-fed pond called Wakutama Pond, designated a national natural treasure.
