Pretty good overall experience - Minus the small hiccup we had with emails the tour was great. Before the meetup (during the email phase) i had no plan what i wanted to visit and he provided a few recommendations (with site links in english). Meetup in person was a tad confusing but we can mark that as a user error, since we meet up at the station instead of the hotel. We visited: - Kiku-Masamune sake brewery (9/10) - Akashi Kaikyo bridge (8/10) (plan ahead when the bridge is open for foot traffic) - Nunobiki Herb Garden (5/10) (off-season, visit when roses bloom, biggest letdown of the 4 options, not a lot of info provided by guide) - ChinaTown (8/10) Yama-san was knowledgeable about most of the locations and his english was good, I would recommend him)

Excellent. Memorable. - We got the 4-hour kobe tour. Our tour guide, Yoshii Kenichi, at 68yo, was not only energrtic but passionate enough to share with us a bit of japan's history before the start of our tour.

Thanks to Harumi a great day was had - We had a marvellous guide & driver. Harumi was our guide and she made the tour for us. Her sense of humour, her passion for her city and her knowledge was fantastic. From the Harbour Tower to Chinatown, from the old town to Kobe Ropeway, Harumi had it all. We finished with a true sushi restaurant and then on to a sake brewery. A lovely day thank you Harumi. We would not hesitate to recommend Harumi as a guide. And besides that we had a lovely BMW 840d to chauffeur us around.

Walking in Kobe - Great private tour. Guide gave us information of Japan going back centuries. Then we took two trains to see the sites. Lots of walking but worth the trip.

Excellent way to see Tokyo - Takashi was our travel guide for a personalized 6-hour tour of Tokyo. He arrived on time to pick us up from the cruise terminal and impressed us with his expert knowledge of Japan, its shrines, temples, and surrounding areas. We loved exploring the bustling markets and enjoying a delicious sushi lunch. Takashi went above and beyond, even helping us with suggestions for arranging transport to the airport the following day. We would thoroughly recommend seeing Tokyo with him!

Harumi was amazing! - Our tour with Harumi in Kobe was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we met her, she was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She shared fascinating insights about Kobe’s history, culture, and cuisine, making every stop meaningful and memorable. Her English was excellent, and she went above and beyond to tailor the tour to our interests, even recommending hidden gems we never would have found on our own. We especially loved the visit to the harbor and taking the tram up to the gardens. Harumi’s enthusiasm and kindness made the day truly special. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Kobe!

Yama: The Heart and Humor of Kobe - Yama is an exceptional guide — the kind of person who reminds you that experience and charisma age like good sake. Despite being over 70, he moves through every stop with more energy and humor than most guides half his age. He adapted perfectly to my pace and needs, balancing professionalism with warmth and genuine kindness. His jokes, stories, and easygoing nature made the entire tour not just informative, but genuinely memorable. If there’s anyone who deserves recognition and a promotion, it’s Yama. Guides like him turn a regular trip into something personal and unforgettable.
