• Miho Seacoast (Miho no Matsubara Beach) - Miho-no-Matsubara is renowned as a spectacular location to view Mt. Fuji and has been depicted in traditional Japanese ukiyo-e art. The 7km coastline is adorned with approximately 30,000 pine trees, offering a timeless view of Mt. Fuji that has symbolized Japan through the ages. When Mt. Fuji was designated a World Heritage Site, Miho-no-Matsubara was included as a component. On this coast, visitors can also find Hagoromo no Matsu, a legendary pine tree said to have been visited by an angel.
• Kunozan Toshogu Shrine - Kunozan Toshogu is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, who unified Japan after centuries of division and established the Edo Shogunate around 400 years ago. The shrine is located on the 216m-high Mt. Kuno in Nihondaira, and the recommended way to reach it is via a ropeway gondola from Nihondaira. From the shrine, visitors can enjoy views of Suruga Bay and the Izu Peninsula. After paying respects at the shrine and admiring the richly decorated buildings, visitors should explore the Kunozan Toshogu Museum, which houses various Tokugawa family treasures, including armor and helmets.

• Nihondaira Ropeway - Nihondaira is a scenic hilly area at an altitude of about 300m overlooking Suruga Bay, offering a stunning view of Mt. Fuji. From here, Mt. Fuji rises beyond the tea fields, accompanied by Suruga Bay, and a shift in gaze reveals the southern Japan Alps. A must-see is the nighttime view from sunset, where the lights of Shimizu City below begin to twinkle, creating a romantic scene. Capturing a photograph with the nightscape as a backdrop is highly recommended.

• Shizuoka Sengen Shrine - Shizuoka Sengen Shrine is the collective name for three shrines: Kanbe, Asama, and Otoshimioya. The expansive precincts feature magnificent shrine buildings, including the bright vermilion Romon Gate, the Ohaiden Hall, and the main shrines of Kanbe and Asama. “Chigomai,” a dance said to have moved Lord Ieyasu, is performed during Hatsukaesai, the annual festival in April. • Sumpu Castle Park - Sumpu Castle Park is a historic site in the heart of Shizuoka City, built on the grounds of the former Sumpu Castle. Originally constructed in the late 16th century, the castle later served as the retirement residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Today, the park features reconstructed structures like the East Gate and Tatsumi Yagura (corner tower), along with tranquil gardens, open lawns, and walking paths. Visitors can explore exhibits about the castle’s history, enjoy seasonal flowers, and experience a serene atmosphere in the city center.

• Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha - Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha is the head shrine of over 1,300 Sengen shrines across Japan and is deeply connected to the worship of Mt. Fuji. Located in Fujinomiya City at the southwestern foot of the mountain, it has been a sacred site for centuries, dedicated to Konohanasakuya-hime, the Shinto deity associated with Mt. Fuji and protection from volcanic eruptions.

The shrine features elegant traditional architecture, a serene atmosphere, and a beautiful spring-fed pond called Wakutama Pond, designated a national natural treasure.
