- Fuji Shibazakura Festival - Established in 2008, the Fuji Shibazakura Festival takes place at Motosuko Resort during the blooming season of the shibazakura plants. While there are numerous renowned locations across Japan to view shibazakura blossoms, Motosuko Resort uniquely offers the chance to see both shibazakura and Mt. Fuji together. With approximately 500,000 vibrant shibazakura plants, it boasts the largest single area of shibazakura in the greater Tokyo region. The pink, red, white, and purple blossoms spread out like a carpet, creating a stunning landscape for visitors to enjoy.
- Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba (Traditional Japanese Village) - Situated in Fujikawaguchiko Town, this traditional Japanese village is celebrated as Japan’s most beautiful village, offering a picturesque view with Mt. Fuji as a backdrop. After being destroyed by a landslide during a typhoon in 1966, it was rebuilt and reopened in 2006 as an open-air museum and traditional craft village.
Visitors can wander through this historic village and admire the unique “armor structure” houses designed by the villagers to withstand harsh winter snow. The thatched roofs are particularly noteworthy, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer.
From the viewing point, one can gaze at Mount Fuji in the distance, where the mountain peak and the rooftops create a harmonious and beautiful scene.
- Lake Kawaguchiko - As the most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Kawaguchi is famous for its breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Fuji from its shores. It features the longest shoreline among the Fuji Five Lakes. On a clear, calm day, visitors can witness a perfect mirror image of Mount Fuji reflected in the lake’s waters.
In 2013, the lake was recognized as part of the World Heritage List under the Fujisan Cultural Site.
- Oishi Park - Oishi Park is a picturesque area where visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of flowers, Lake Kawaguchi, and the majestic Mt. Fuji simultaneously. The lakeside promenade showcases various flowers that bloom seasonally. On the park’s west side, the “350-meter-long Flowers Road” presents a vibrant array of colorful blooms throughout the year. At the end of Flowers Road, Kochia (summer cypress) thrives from summer to autumn, making it a favored spot for photography.
The park features 90 different types of seasonal flowers, ensuring a variety of blooms are always on display. As visitors stroll along the flower-lined promenade with Mt. Fuji in view, a sense of tranquility is sure to be felt.
(Note: During the 2025 Kawaguchiko Cherry Blossom Festival, it is recommended to visit the Sakura forest by Lake Kawaguchi instead of Oishi Park.)
- Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center - On the second floor of the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, visitors can capture a unique view of the red torii harmoniously blending with Mount Fuji.
(Note: During the 2025 Kawaguchiko Cherry Blossom Festival, it is suggested to visit the Sakura forest by Lake Kawaguchi instead of the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center.)
- Chureito Pagoda - Located in Arakurayama Sengen Park, the Chureito Pagoda is a must-visit attraction. The park is famous for its stunning panoramic views of the Chureito Pagoda, Mt. Fuji, and Fujiyoshida City at the mountain’s base.
To reach the Chureito Pagoda and observation deck, visitors must ascend 398 steps. The view from the top is regarded as one of Japan’s finest and is listed among the 21 must-visit locations for photographers worldwide.
While the cherry blossom season is perfect for capturing the iconic image of Mt. Fuji framed by cherry blossoms and the five-storied pagoda, the park offers breathtaking scenery year-round as the landscape transforms with the seasons.
- Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine - Established in 705, this shrine has been the guardian deity of Arakura Village for over 1,300 years. It is a revered place of worship where individuals seek protection from misfortune, promote household harmony, and pray for safe childbirth and successful child-rearing.
