Great music and musicians - Wonderful music! I don't know how anyone can call this boring, sure some pieces can be long which requires a specific mood and mindset to enjoy but in this one hour (I actually went to both the A and B sets which had different pieces) performance was perfect. The included instrument introductions were succinct and enriching, the English translation (by a non-professional translator) was on-point at least as far as I could tell (I know some Japanese) if at times a little unnatural (the translator was not a native English speaker) The musicians themselves were kind, highly skilled and humorous and not at all stuffy and uptight like you might expect from "traditional" musicians (think of an elitist, stuffy classical pianist) and agreed to be photographed and filmed both during and after the show. You could even get a photo with the musicians (with your own camera or phone). Finally, the souvenir shop on the way out was OK and what it lacked in variety (would've loved a T-shirt, it's kind of a thing for me when I go to musicals and musical performances, but they only had keychains, tote bag and a CD with the A set pieces) it made up with quality as the items were designed and (some of them) crafted by the same traditional craftsmen who build traditional Japanese instruments. All in all, had a great time and would highly recommend you check them out (you can also find them on YouTube to get a taste).

100% Recommend - I loved that this wasn't just a music experience but also a discussion of the instruments and how music is engrained in Japanese culture. It was honestly fascinating and the music showed such a range. I bought the CD at the end as I was so enamoured. Definitely recommend not only for the music but the insight into Japanese culture

Amazing experience worth every penny! - Perhaps, unlike many other visitors to this show, I was the only one who isn't a casual tourist, but a Tokyo's resident. Yet, it was my first time experiencing traditional Japanese music instruments live. And what's more, it was happening within arm's reach, right in front of me. I must say that the show not only met my expectations (I've read couple of reviews before going), but exceeded them! No reviews or videos on the Internet can convey how great it is live! The skill of musicians is undeniable, their fingers fly over the instruments, and their facial expressions are mesmerising - they are so passionately giving themselves to music that you too become captivated. I was also glad to learn that this is not just a musical, but also an educational show. Especially if this is your first encounter with such music (as it was in my case), it's great to understand what kind of song is being performed, why specifically these instruments are being used, and what exactly the musicians are doing to extract the sound from their instruments! Amazing! I wish I could've stayed for the second show of the evening! Will definitely go again and recommend to everyone I know!

Fantastic, wish it could have been longer - Great experience! The music was beautifully performed and we got to learn about the instruments and the music they were playing. I would pay more for a longer show so they could play longer pieces, if they ever did that.

A pleasure for the ears but also for the eyes - Superb experience. In addition to playing very beautiful pieces with different instruments, we also receive explanations on the history and functioning of these instruments. It is also very appreciable to see these wonderful musicians master their instruments so well.

Worst show ever, you must read before you go - Worst show ever, waste of time You pay for a 1 hour traditional music, but instead, you get a 15 minutes music and 45 minutes explaining about the instruments And the music itself 1/3 traditional and 2/3 were covers A complete waste of time and money
