Shanghai - The guide will meet the operator in the hotel lobby around 09:00 AM. A 20-minute drive will take the operator to the renowned Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.

Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall - At the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, visitors can explore numerous textual and graphic files and architectural models, providing a comprehensive understanding of Shanghai’s development.

The Urban Planning Exhibition Hall highlights Shanghai’s urbanization and modernization. By viewing city miniatures and extensive city planning materials, visitors gain insights into Shanghai’s past and present. High-tech methods are used to project Shanghai’s blueprint through 2020.

Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Yu Garden. Located in the old town, Yuyuan Garden is the city’s most famous ancient site, known for its ingenious layout and delicate architecture. The garden’s treasure, Yu Ling Long (an exquisite jade stone), an artificial hill, is one of the three most renowned peaks in Southern China.

Yuyuan Old Street - Next, visit the Yuyuan Bazaar, also known as Yuyuan Market, situated outside Yu Garden in the heart of Old Shanghai City, near the Old City God Temple. Traditional Chinese buildings now serve as commercial stores selling local products, snacks, jewelry, souvenirs, antiques, and more.

Shanghai World Financial Center - Afterwards, head to the Shanghai World Financial Center and ascend to the 100th floor for panoramic city views. It is the world’s 8th tallest building and the 4th tallest in Mainland China. The 100th floor features a 55-meter-long viewing gallery, the second highest observation deck in China, surpassing the Canadian TV Tower (447 meters) and the Dubai Tower (440 meters).

The Bund (Wai Tan) - Following this, visit the Bund area, the essence of Shanghai. Located on the Huangpu River bank, travelers visit the Bund for its charming riverside scenery and unique Western and Gothic architecture. Free time is provided to explore the Bund and capture photos.

Shanghai - Finally, return to the hotel, or enjoy free time at nearby Nanjing Road.

Shanghai - The guide will meet the operator in the hotel lobby around 09:00 AM. A 60-minute drive will take the operator to the famous Zhujiajiao water town.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town - Zhujiajiao water town, known nationwide, boasts a history of over 1,700 years. Spanning 47 square kilometers (11,614 acres), this fan-shaped town, often called Shanghai’s Venice, shines like a pearl amid lakes and mountains. The tour guide will accompany visitors to Kezhi Garden, Qing Dynasty Post Office, and Fangsheng Bridge.

Jade Buddha Temple - After lunch, visit the Jade Buddha Temple. Built in 1882 for two white jade Buddha statues from Burma, the Jade Buddha Temple is a renowned Buddhist shrine and active Zen monastery. The temple plays a vital role in spreading Buddhism through cultural means, including lectures, library services, Buddhist academic publications, and regular cultural activities.

Tianzifang - Later, conclude the tour at Tianzifang, an old-style cultural block featuring distinctive Shikumen buildings with art studios, themed cafés and bars, and handicraft workshops.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport - After the tour, head to Pudong International Airport for a flight to Zhangjiajie (MU9341 20:05-22:35). The flight duration is approximately 2.5 hours.

Airport Road - Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie, a driver will promptly transfer the operator to the Zhangjiajie hotel (driver only, no guide).

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - On this full-day tour, the guide will meet the operator at 9:00 AM in the hotel lobby in Zhangjiajie city center or Wulingyuan hotel. The tour includes visits to various mountain areas, such as Tianzi Mountain, where the world’s longest cable car ride takes visitors to the mountain’s peak, and the unique platform-shaped Yuanjiajie Mountain.

With magnificent mountain ranges, deep valleys, mysterious caves, lush vegetation, cascading waterfalls, and mist-shrouded stone pillars, Hunan’s Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a natural wonderland.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is home to over 500 species of wildlife and vegetation, including rare monkeys, gingko trees, and thousands of colorful birds. The park’s most notable geographic features are its hundreds of towering sandstone pillars. Fans of Hollywood blockbusters will recognize the stunning landscape as the inspiration for Pandora in James Cameron’s hit movie Avatar.

Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie - The Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area boasts natural beauty, where mountains, valleys, forests, caves, lakes, and waterfalls exist in harmony. Over 560 attractions can be found here. The uniquely-shaped peaks, peculiar stones, hidden valleys, wonderful waters, and limestone caves form the ‘Five Wonders’ of Wulingyuan, truly worth seeing.

Covering 690 square kilometers (266 square miles), Wulingyuan Scenic Area consists of four parts: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve, Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, and the newly added Yangjiajie Scenic Area.

Today’s tour will visit the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve area.

Tianzi Mountain - After purchasing the main park entrance tickets, take a shuttle bus (20-minute drive) to the Tianzi Mountain cable station and walk up 200 steps to reach the station.

Tianzi Mountain Clouds - After a 20-minute cable car ride, reach the top of Tianzi Mountain, then take another shuttle bus (5-minute drive) to the Tianzi Mountain central area, offering stunning views of peaks rising one after another. Known as ‘the Monarch of the Peak Forest,’ the top of the mountain provides a full view of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Beautiful mountain scenes greet visitors in different seasons, with four wonders: the Sea of Clouds, the Radiance of the Moonlight, Rays of Sunshine, and Snow in winter.

BaiLong Elevator - After visiting Yuanjiajie (Avatar Mountain), take a shuttle (15-minute drive) to the Bailong Elevator. The Bailong Elevator is magnificent, with a total height of 335 meters (1,099 feet), of which 326 meters (1,069 feet) is the running height. 154 meters (505 feet) of the total height is in the mountain wells, and the remaining 172 meters (564 feet) consists of steel derrick and other components. The elevator includes three parallel sightseeing elevators, each accommodating 50 passengers, with a speed of 3 m/s (accelerated to 5 m/s since 2013). If all three elevators run simultaneously, the one-way passenger capacity reaches 4,000 per hour.

Golden Whip Brook - Enjoy a one-hour hike along the Golden Whip Stream, then take a shuttle to exit the park and return to the hotel. Golden Whip Stream (Jinbian Stream) is renowned for its pristine water, verdant mountains, steep cliffs, and serene valley. As a “paradise” for plants, its pathways are adorned with an abundance of flowers, trees, and grasses. It is also a kingdom of animals. Golden Whip Stream is named after Golden Whip Crag, its landmark spot, and runs from Laomo Bay to Shui Rao Si Men (water-surrounded gates).

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - After lunch, transfer to the Glass Bridge. The local expert guide will lead an adventure trip in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, famous among explorers and nature lovers worldwide, featuring typical Zhangjiajie landforms, breathtaking cliffs, lush forests, ancient caves, colorful ponds, and a river running through the canyon. Walk on the world’s longest and highest Glass Bridge in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Hanging over a valley, the glass bridge offers a superb panorama of the entire grand canyon. Enjoy a scenic walk with waterfalls and wonderful views on each side. Standing on it feels like floating in the air.

Zhangjiajie - At the end, the guide will escort the operator to the hotel in Zhangjiajie or Wulingyuan.

Zhangjiajie - At 9:00 AM, the tour guide will meet the operator in the hotel lobby and transfer to Zhangjiajie Tianmen Park.

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Spend 3-4 hours at Tianmen Mountain Park. Use the cable car or shuttle bus to ascend the hill, depending on traffic. Tianmen Mountain, known as the “New Legend Of Zhangjiajie,” is the highest spot (1,500m) in Zhangjiajie, offering a thrilling walk on a cliff-path and glass walkway, with a bird’s-eye view of the city and beautiful countryside. The landscape is distinct yet on par with the ZJJ National Park, both offering world-class scenery. It’s a must-visit highlight of the city. Remarkably, this single mountain holds 4 World Guinness Records, each overwhelmingly impressive. An amazing experience awaits.

Fenghuang County - After lunch, the guide will escort the operator to Fenghuang, a 3-hour drive covering 220 km. Fenghuang (Phoenix) Town, built in 1704, is a famous national cultural and historical city. The blue flagstone streets, stilted houses, and Miao nationality customs contribute to its unique charm. For the rest of the day, explore the ancient town freely.

Fenghuang - Zhangjiajie. The tour ends.

Phoenix Ancient Town - Enjoy a full exploration of Fenghuang Ancient Town. After breakfast, take a boat along the Tuojiang River, the town’s mother river. The clean river flows slowly along the city walls, with water plants swaying in gentle waves. Occasionally, mist rises from the quiet green water, creating a fairyland atmosphere. Then, visit Wanming Pagoda on the river’s north bank. The hexagonal pagoda, around 21 meters (69 feet) high, has seven layers, with copper wind bells hanging at each eave corner. The pagoda is adorned with colored paintings and sculptures.

After admiring the elegant pagoda, cruise to the Rainbow Bridge. From the second floor, enjoy views of green hills, blue water, city walls, red slates, and stilted houses. Watch boats move quietly through the river.

Zhangjiajie - After lunch, the guide will escort the operator to the hotel in Zhangjiajie or Zhangjiajie airport/train station. This marks the end of the 5-day tour services. Note: Book an evening flight, as the drive from Fenghuang to Zhangjiajie takes 3 hours.
