Fun and informative - This was an informative, fun, experience. The panning was fun and was done at table height…easy on the back. The guides were young and enthusiastic and made the experience enjoyable. Each person gets a bag of soil with gold flakes and other gem stones so you are assured of finding something!

Fabulous - Fantastic history of Seward and the point of the event was teaching us the correct technique for gold panning. Very well done. You are not digging up huge amounts of black sand expecting a ounce of gold. It is showing you how it is done. I am 70 years old and loved ot

Fun experience (a bit brief) - My husband loved this experience so much, he wishes it would have lasted all day. The instructor was patient and knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of interesting historical and scientific information. My only criticism would be the short length, although many tourists may prefer that. We just wanted it to last longer.

Fantastic fun - but it’s not as easy as movies make it look. :) - This was truly a fun experience! Ole’ Larry, our instructor was EXCELLENT. He showed us how to pan and what to look for. He is a storehouse of curious and historical facts about the Alaska gold mining era, it made it really interesting and fun. We all got gold and semi precious stones to take home. Highly recommended! Ask for Ole’ Larry!
