Great fun experience - Yes its tourist thing... but it was something that filled the time slot with something to do. My wife and I had a wonderful time. We both found gold!! Please dont think we expected to find huge nuggets. It was more about the experience. The set-up was really nice. We would highly recommend.

Great time pass for all ages! - This was a fun and casual way to spend an hour while in Seward! It’s a great activity for all ages and a perfect break between sightseeing or exploring town. Friendly staff, easy to learn, and a cool little memory to take home. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something different and local to try in Seward to pass some time.

Gold Panning with Adventure Sixty North in Seward, Alaska - What an outstanding experience to go gold panning with Adventure Sixty North in Seward, Alaska! Our guide was wonderful and shared with us how prospectors did this in the “olden days”; what they had to endure to get to where the gold was supposed to be; and how to process it out of big stones of quartz. It wasn’t nearly that difficult for our group! The hard part was done and we were able to start panning, each with a bag of sand, rock, gems and yes, gold! It was an enjoyable and educational excursion.

Highly Recommended - We were looking for a fun thing to do in Seward, and we found it. It was also informational and gave us more appreciation for the rugged souls who came Alaska for the gold rushes. Overall, a nice experience for all ages.

Eureka - We learned all the necessary skills that a person needs to pan for gold. The instructor demonstrated a skill then let us try the skill. Everyone leaves with some gold & the knowledge of how panning for gold was done.

Little ones are paying customers too - We did a panning for gold tour with 4 adults and 3 children. Each child was paid for so and transfers for 7 were requested and accepted. When we arrived, there weren’t enough stations for our group and the youngest was overlooked until we asked for the demonstration to stop and add more stations for all of us. Please don’t overlook the little ones, they are the reason we are there in the first place.🥇

Headline: No flexibility, no apology, and no concern for customers - The pick-up service at the start of our hike went smoothly, but the return was extremely disappointing. Despite calling ahead several times to say we would be just a few minutes late, the shuttle left and was gone when we arrived only two minutes past the scheduled time. The company was dismissive and unapologetic when contacted, which left us scrambling to hitchhike back so we would not miss our train. Their lack of flexibility and poor customer service make this a service I would not recommend.
