Additional Information

Flamenco is a prominent feature of Spanish culture, predominantly in the southern territory of Andalusia. Many believe that Flamenco originated in Triana, opposite the river from Seville, primarily around the mines and rural areas where gypsies resided from the 15th century, driven there by the Sacred Inquisition.

Flamenco dance, a part of the archetypal Spanish flamenco triad, has a rich historical context which runs parallel to the cultural progression of Spain. The guide will discuss this and much more, prior to showcasing you the performance.

Flamenco is a distinctly Andalusian art, which has transcended boundaries and has been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Intimate & entertaining - This was a really interesting and informative evening especially coming from Australia. Maria was entertaining in her explanation of the history of flamenco and the history of the area. The small venue Made the tour even more special with only 18 people in the audience. Definitely recommend this tour.

A pleasant hour of traditional dancing - I was booked in for the show only so no tour: just turned up at the appointed time. The room was a small hall of sorts with chairs all laid out below the stage for the small audience of about 30 people. The show was fairly basic: just a guitarist, a singer and a male & and older female dancer. I enjoyed it: very intense dancing, stomping and clapping. I felt it was quite genuine and traditional, not a showy performance. Lasted for 1 hour.

Not interesting - There was no "tour", there was no master class, there was much more expensive than on the spot, no beautiful dresses like on the fliers, no male dancers at all. I saw in the street better performances.
