Additional Information

This excursion is planned to highlight the distinctive hues of the Smoky Mountains during autumn. The prime colors fluctuate annually, but we consistently endeavor to locate the regions with the most vibrant colors. This excursion only operates from October to mid-November. Throughout the journey, you’ll witness a significant part of the local surroundings within and beyond the park. Your tour guide will share ample information about the history and culture of the local region and its inhabitants. The itinerary may vary daily based on the guides’ discretion and the regions where the most vibrant color might be anticipated. Tree color might not always be optimal in the early part of the month, so keep this in mind while selecting your dates. Even when the color is not easily spotted, we provide you with extraordinary views while narrating fascinating tales and historical facts. This excursion is a comprehensive 5-hour experience of sceneries, narratives, and vistas that are unmissable.

I would highly recommend this tour. Maybe I’ll take vacation a little bit early next year and see even more color. - Oh my gosh, it was just a fantastic trip. I even went on it twice. I have never seen anybody as knowledgeable and enjoyable as Dustin. he was absolutely fantastic. Every single person on the tour enjoyed him guiding us. Even though this was a little bit later in the year, there were still plenty of color to see. We were not rushed and allowed to take many many pictures. Dustin has quite a family history in the area, and he shared that with us, and allowed us to share things with him.

Don't miss this wonderful tour!!! - Excellent Tour! Bus driver/guide was a local, so... very, very knowledgeable about the area. Smart and funny :) Had great family history stories to share. Taught us a lot about the 40 different trees in the Smoky Mountains. Took us to the best spots with awesome views of the colorful Fall Foliage. Wonderful day having someone else driving so we could take in all of the gorgeous Smoky Mountains scenery.

Fun tour in the Smokies - We loved seeing the views of the Smokies and listening to Dustin share cultural and historical information about the area. His sense of humor was quite entertaining. The tour started promptly, and everything was as advertised except that the leaves’ colors had peaked several days prior. However, that was Mother Nature’s call and did not at all detract from our experiencing the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains and learning lots of background about the area. Lunch at Elvira’s was excellent! This tour was a worthy investment of our time and money.

Our tour with Dustin - Our guide Dustin was very interesting. He has deep family roots in the area and I loved listening to his many stories. Even though leaves were past their peak we saw many new things and lunch was delicious. Thank you Dustin for making our tour something we will remember. You were great! 😊

Five star - It was a very nice tour, we would recommend to go in October when the leaves are not falling so much! It still was very pretty on Nov. 1st. The tour guide was very friendly and kept talking and stopped frequently which was nice so we could stretch and get pictures!

Good guide - poor ride - While the guide, Dustin, was very informative, the transportation was less than desirable The van had seats for maybe 15 but the seats were not wide enough and uncomfortable. there were a number of stops where the people were to get out of the van to look at the colors of the leaves. It was very difficult for some to exit and enter the van and that made the whole experience distasteful. Dustin, being local, provided a wealth of information about the Smoky Mountain area. He had wonderful stories and definitions of language used in the area. He said that he had scouted to find good spots for viewing color. He took us on the Foothills Parkway to a couple of overlooks where the views were great. He also took us to Elkmont, Daisy Village, I believe he said, to view the historic buildings. That did not seem to be in the description. The trip was scheduled to be five hours long. That meant he needed to stop for a food break and he picked a cafe in Townsend but had said that we could bring our own food if desired. Having a "picnic" at the cafe was not the thing to do. The only tables were at the cafe where patrons of the cafe sat and ate the food purchased in the cafe. I did not feel comfortable taking space where paying customers normally sat. The descriptin should specify that food can be purchased during the tour. The tour was acceptible only because of Dustin, who did good preparation for finding where the good views of colored leaves were, was the guide and provided much good historical and cultural information.

Wasted money - The colors were awful, not the services fault, but it was not worth the price we paid. The van/bus seats were very tight and uncomfortable
